Why are some people concerned about Clark doing 80 minutes. Roby as been doing it for a long time now.

Mitch Brown slotted in Great and would be tough for him get dropped, albeit Charnley is a higher pedigree of player. Am I correct in thinking that Mitch Brown only came on a 1 year deal?

My concern is who we have to cover when he is injured / suspended, Snith & Patton can do a job, but it is an obvious weak spot of the squad.

With regards Charnley having a game or two away from the club, it will depend how sharp he looks in training obviously, if we had reserves I'd stick him in there for a week or so, as we don't Rochdale is our only option for game time for players needing sharpening up.

Charnley has come straight from a team that have been playing rugby since last summer.
He's fit enough....as is Clark.
No worries.

Charnley although primarily a winger has had lengthy stints with great success as 1st choice goal kicker, centre and fullback.

Don`t think he will play any initial games for Rochdale.

Think he will play this Friday in our Wakefield game.

Should boost the attendance, if he is in our 19 man squad.

Great signing.

Mitch Brown has done very well for us, but was always signed as a backs cover, knowing full well he was behind Russell/Lineham/Ratchford when he arrived.

He's taken his chance well when presented with it - but Charnley and Lineham are too good for one of them to be benched for Brown.

However it's a massive positive to know that we now have 3 very capable SL standard wingers to pick from.

M.Brown to FB and Ratch to 6? '"

Why would signing a ( much needed ) winger be influenced by the future of one of our half-backs?

Ratchford has been tried and failed as a stand-off. He clearly is more comfortable chiming into the attack from full back from time-to-time rather than carrying the pressure of being a main pivot and playmaker for 80 minutes.

Brown is cover for our wingers and could make a good case for being slected ahead of Lineham. He can also cover fullback and with Jack Johnson out for the season then the only way I can see Russel make the starting line-up is as cover for Ratch should he suffer an injury.

Possibly more to do with the perception of balancing the books rather than the playing roster?

Quote: rubber duckie "Clark is doing OK with 80mins. We've still got Smith and Patton as cover...what concerns my more is your idea we should send Charnley to Rochdale! Whaaaat?'"

Quote: rubber duckie "I still think Russell will be okay in this squad. In fact I think he can add something few others can.
As I've said, I've wiped the slate clean and I'll not be a critic until the season starts.
Remember I have probably been a major critic of him in the past.'"

According to what you said we don't need another winger.
