| On a positive note hiku looks quality and can make any winger look good!!
Apart from that and two points not many positives to take from the game currie did not look right after he was down for a while, in attack we look as dangerous as Steven Hawkins with an uzi! Out try's were more down to individuals creating the trys and too often on last play there was clearly no plan!! I cannot understand how the team was unable to build on the last two wins we were not world beaters in them but started to look like they were up for it!!
I think we miss gidley a lot more than we realise and we will need to bring in a half as Patton brown and ratchford are not capable of filling his roll in the side pattonnmore down to experience which I'm hoping will come in time which he has

| We all know that Wire should be in a better position than this. But it is what it is and we have 7 of the biggest games coming up for years. Playing in Finals and Semi-Finals is easy in comparison. It's frightening ... injuries to key players, man sent off after 10 minutes etc. Got to be positive and go for it ... no time for whingers now.

| Most tries in rugby league are down to individual efforts. We look way better without Gidley. He is a very poor decision maker at half back. I thought we looked quite solid tonight. Certainly seen games where we looked clueless. Don't think fair to say that tonight. It's interesting very few comments when we win. The usual whingers still having to find only negatives. Getting boring now.

| Negatives:
- Still not fluid enough in attack
- whoever came up with the game plan to rush out at Joe Mellor needs to have a word with themselves.
- Ben Currie's knee.
Positives:
- Peta Hiku and that right hand edge finally look threatening. Brown / Hughes / Hiku / Russell - looked ok.
- Pattons short kicking game.
- Defence, Defence, Defence. 10 points, 10 points and 6 points is a good return.

Really like Hiku, look forward to seeing him next season, also glad they took Currie off, no point him doing any damge to his knee, he will be needed in more important games.

you seriously thought we looked better without Gidley ........ jesus.........
I have no words.....
Widnes are a shambles of a side and we stone cold struggled to unlock their defence.....
a little tip..... we beat Leigh by 50 points with Gidley in it ....... then we went to Wigan and beat them.
Tonight that was an absolute desperate display of dreadful rugby......
guess who was missing....

| Quote Smiffy27="Smiffy27"I have an agenda about being negative ALL of the time. I expect to see people who actually love Rugby League and the Wire on this site. The club has 7 very important games coming up ... moaning, groaning being negative does not help our club. That's my agenda.'"
So what effect on the season to date would you say your positivity has had?
Perhaps you too haven't been positive enough?

| Currie is just another level. First touch he drove 12 - 15m from a tap 20. Second touch he pulled a great pass out to put Atkins away down the touchline. Better vision and execution than we've seen from most of our halves this year.
The chase back to catch the Widnes centre after he had injured his knee was another highlight. i hope he has the time to play his way in to the World Cup squad.

| Over recent years i have seen Widnes come up with the same ploy, push at the scrum & get the ball back. Why don't we try that? I am thankful that after the hour we started to score a few points but we need to be thankful that Widnes were worse than us. Why the same plays, side to side with a kick to the corner for a conversion that rarely comes off, when Hiku showed more enterprise with a kick to the posts that left the Wire flat footed ?
At least the pitch looked good.
