Bizarre that we've lost those games but lost only 1 from 11 against the rest of the top 5 and that to a last minute drop goal

| Bizarre is the way these threads are going down hill so fast with negativity from all sides, the only thing that matters on 27th August is who has the best tactics, the fittest and most desire.
There will be nerves on the day on both sides, coping with that will be key. All this we've took 4 points off you and oh you lost to Leeds twice is mindless boiiocks.
Lets hope both sides can keep that element of ery under control in the stands. Here's to a great day all round

| Cant wait for the final already. Although we are top and in the final, you wont find a Hull fan on here that would say they are 100% pleased with how we are playing. I think we go side to side too much without engaging defenders. I dont think we have an adequate number 6 - unless Abdull plays. Pritchard doesnt look fit. So there are issues to correct. Just hope you play Tom Lineham on the wing

Pritchard was a passenger on friday night, interesting there was a lot of strapping on his knee first half, which vanished second.
Whats up with y'alls 6 then? I thought the tuimivave plan was in force?

Seems that is the way Radford wants to go. Maybe the pre-season training at Centre has meant he hasnt had time to build an effective partnership with Sneyd yet, but Abdull stepped in for the Derby and the win against Salford and played well straight away.
Pritchard is being used in the middle rather than as an edge runner, which is what he was renowned for in the NRL. He was coming into some form, then went and captained Samoa and hasnt looked fit since. Saying that, his stats are pretty good, only a handful of games where he hasnt made 100m in a game, just being used incorrectly IMO

| The obvious thing against Hull is that your forwards have got to put a massive shift in. If our boys are making easy yards then Houghton and Sneyd will run the show and you won't get a look in. If however you can front up we do have weak links in defence. Minichiello and Fonua are like a couple of wrecking balls when they have the ball, unfortunately in defence they can get caught flat footed and you can get at them. I also think you need to think a bit outside the box in attack. We defend against structure really well, and will just mop up set plays all day long. If you can play a bit more off the cuff you should get some joy. Oh, and you've got to kick your goals, because Sneyd just doesn't miss.
Should be a great game. Hopefully the weather is good and allows both teams to bring their A games. Couldn't possibly pick a winner atm. In a normal game I would be fairly confident, but history will weigh heavy on our boys (and supporters) I just hope it doesn't get to us.

Did you see our attack on saturday, not to many tries from structured play going on there.

Big forwards, but wembley is a big big pitch, lots of room to run them ragged, move them around.
Go back to 09 when we were playing the giants, they were known for this suffocating defense and line speed at the time, first set, kick over in our 20 and went over and around them. Smith really does seem to know how to plan for wembley, that big pitch really does suit us.

| Obviously Hull's strength is their pack and their game plan is to bully teams down the middle. A bit like ourselves not that long ago. the hardest thing playing against Hull is that its relentless. Their Bench can be just as big as their starting pack. that being said... they're big but they're not mobile.
Wire have the advantage of a pack with big men in it that are also athletic and mobile around the pitch. I'd expect us to used the size of Wembley's pitch to our advantage. shifting the ball by 2 or three men on each tackle. keep the big men moving and working. kicking will win us this final. I'd expect (or I'd hope to see) plenty of early kicks deep into their corner. Turning their forwards around and forcing them to make huge yards to get out their half. if we can get our line speed right and meet them quick their pack wont build any momentum. Getting them to kick in their own half constantly and we've got a good chance. Attacking wise trying to hit them up the middle will just tire us out more than we need to be. spread the ball either side, suck the centres and wingers in.

I think that it is the mobility of the pack that is impressive about Hull. Watts, Taylor, Bowden have good footwork at the line. Also, see Chris Greens footwork at the line for his try against Salford last week. You then have Minichiello and Manu who are also good on their feet but fantastically strong.

| Its very rare this season we've seen an opposition team drag their pack round the field. They've been allowed to play one up rugby straight down the middle. We're going to have to make them work. When they're under the cosh and made to move about their intensity drops off.

| Clearly, as the league table suggests, the game is close to call as things stand right now. Both teams are capable of some scintillating play as well as the odd abject performance. Hopefully both will avoid significant injuries or suspensions in the run up to the final, and will be at, or very close to, the top of their game on the 27th.
For a while I doubted whether I was going to be able to make the game, but all that's sorted now, tickets are ordered from the RFL and I can't wait.

| We would struggle to out muscle the hull pack but can out manoeuvre them. Withstand the early battles and take control of the game.
Its too tough to call if both teams turn up then we are in for one hell of a game. One thing is for sure is both teams are capable of punishing the other if they are not 100% committed or lose concentration. We must play the full 80minutes to win it
