i think is exactly right... sandow is the icing on the cake.. Gidley is sublime.. The real leader we have been crying out for that makes this side hard to beat.
Gidley is an absolute machine.

| Like Lefty, I thought it was disgraceful that Carney said we had no chance of winning unless we cheated. Happily we left that to Wigan, who are the pros.

| Well, the only thing I have to add is that Evans is replaceable, but Sandow ain't.

| Quote: lefty goldblatt "What an effort.
For an "after Easter" game, where our 17 have outperformed their 20......
.....and before anybody starts, I'm not including the extra 3 as the officials....NO. I actually thought (bar the non knock on by Gidley) they had a good game....
the extra 3, were on the commentary gantry.
Hemmings had to wipe himself down, after Wigan's first try in the second half. It was almost akin to the big lead we had against Stain in Manchester Magic about 3 years ago. Stains scored a couple, and he screams THE COMEBACK'S ON. We absorb their pressure, and we see the game out.
The housewife's choice (Carney), made his mind up after 10 seconds of the game starting, that we were going to interfere, all game. No, Brian. Then in the second half, convinced himself that Wigan were the side in the ascendency, after the first set of 6 in the second half. Very quiet from 65 mins, onwards.
O'Connor didn't even realise that there was two sides on the pitch. All he talked about all night was Wigan.
PATHETIC, PATHETIC, PATHETIC BIASED COMMENTARY
Fair play to Clarke. Gave us praise, the whole game through.
Anyway
I've taken my Tramadol, and calmed down.
Superb from 1 -17 from us, despite the injury adversity in the first half.
Disappointing to see the anti-Penny brigade out, whilst the game was on. He tried to claim the ball, it came ose, and they scored. IT HAPPENS. Don't destroy the lad for it. I dare say Johns, Langer, Meninga, Daley etc, have done it, plenty of times.
Great industry from the pack.
Sandow (despite the injury) is the Messiah.......I should know, I've followed a few
well said mate..wish these clowns who slated penny tonight would do one over to wigan and watch them..the lad supported a great kick by sandow and used great common sense to give ratchford a stroll in under the post for a try well done kevin..keep it up lad...

The RFL need to look at the timing of big games like this. I'm certain Sandows injury is a result of playing three games in 7 days and the spectacle wasn't all it could be with weakened sides and fatigue.
Bigger and better games to come between the sides IMO.'"
Gidley is the leader definitely but Sandow is the spark, he created 3 tries in the time he was on. Gidley saw us home (after Sandow gave us the impetus) with leadership and great positional play, if we weren't 14-0 up would we have won that given the injuries and against decisions such as gidley knocking on with his knees?

| Sandow walked off which with a hamstring is a good sign. That's the only saving grace.

| True, he did. Perhaps I was being a little pessimistic. Lets hope that Gidley can act as our 'can opener' until he returns. I really don't want to go back to the headless chicken routine that we have seen from Wire in 2014,15 when we get close to the opposition line.

| Gutted Sandow is unlikely to play v saints. I'm sure he would have blown them away.

| A moral victory tonight. We're better than all the crap and showed that we're a different class tonight.

We have to be ULTRA careful, next Friday
Stains are MASTERS at picking off teams, the week after they've suffered a defeat.
I'll celebrate WHEN (if) we've won. Don't forget, this is Stains we're taking about

| ''The length of time it takes to recover from a hamstring strain or tear will depend on how severe the injury is. A minor muscle pull or strain (grade 1) may take a few days to heal, whereas it could take weeks or months to recover from a muscle tear (grade 2 or 3).''
From NHS website.
Don't mean to be a gloom merchant but hamstring tears can be really nasty and take along time to heal. I've known them take 8 weeks
At least he was walking which is a good sign, but even from that I can still see him being out for a few weeks.
(I've got a grade one and am off to the physio tomorrow)

| As soon as Sandow went down it was obviously hamstring or calf and I wanted them to get him off ASAP. I would rather miss him for the rest of that game and maybe the next one or two weeks rather than stay on and get carried off with six to eight or more out. I'm pleased that not only did he not carry on, but he walked off unaided. Hopefully just going to be a week or two at most

| Interesting comments from TS on the Beeb RL website alluding to the opposition tactics-in my view of course!.
"I couldn't care less if Wigan were going to win it, I was worried about my players. It was tough, we couldn't rotate them after losing those two players in the first half.
"We had a number of players who shouldn't have been on there after a while with some of the knocks they took.
"I saw the determination of the players - they weren't going to let it slip. Their defence was enormous tonight."

| Yes we have lost a definite game breaker for a few weeks with Chris Sandow....time for the coaching staff to earn their corn in the next seven days & come up with an alternative.
