Well I have to say that from the weak and lightweight pack we have had at periods over the last 2 seasons we have suddenly gone to have potentially the meanest pack since the days of Boyd Jacko and Tamati.

I'm as giddy as a giddy thing.

At this best he is an excellent defender with an ability to win penalties. Also very disciplined in big games.that is why he was a first 17 pick for leeds for a decade. However, rarely breaks line of late and not sure what is left in tank after short spells at hkr and cas. The bad guy act is largely that - an act but he can get under opposition skin. if it is true I doubt he will cost much on the wire salary cap and will be on a short term/trial basis.

His physicality on the field would be a welcome addition. Personality wise and some of the on field tactics a la pick on the smal fellas and run a mile if the big men square up to you are what I seem recall about this guy.
However I am in with rd here in that I will take this signing, not a lot of others options out there in our budget.
Be honest guys if he puts in a good shift which is likely are you not going get behind him? Poor show if not.

I hate bailey.

He speaks highly of you as well. He might be a good addition, he wil help the young lads not getting bullied on the pitch and might bring a bit of winning mentality to the team. I doubt he will have signed a deal more than a year anyway. Strength in depth

If it's true we'll all get over it. Imagine a very tough game v (say) Wigan and he dumps one of their nastier players ... and we could all name one or two ... I bet there'll be great cheers. Most people here must have played with or coached someone who (in the first instance) they were not that fond of. It may take a bit of getting used to but as soon as Wolfie gives him a cuddle we'll be won over and wonder what all the fuss was about.

If he was in his full pomp maybe you'd allow it but he's just been rejected by Hull KR and Cas. Has he ever been an enforcer (and by that I mean enforcing without giving away a penalty/worse)?

I don't think anyone can be "an enforcer" in the modern day. I think the idea is a bit old fashioned. With all action scrutinised on video you can't fart without getting a ban. The tough players now are just not intimidated no matter what is thrown at 'em. e.g. Hill

Even at his best, he was never that. Penalty-wise, he won many more than he conceded. A good example is the much-loved vid of him being "owned" by Radford. What a lot of gleeful opposition fans tended to overlook were the facts that Bailey was unscathed, Radford was dismissed and Leeds won easily.

What he brought to the table was some very quick ptbs, a strong defensive effort with few missed tackles and the aforementioned ability to distract weak-minded opposition players. But it seems like aeons since he was doing that even for Leeds, let alone during his wilderness spells at hkr and cas.

What clearwing said . Although Bailey has his moments as the pantomime villain, he has always figured strongly in the business end of seasons and played his part in all our GF wins. IF he comes with the attitude to play then he could be a very useful squad member.
