| Clarke's return. Couldn't give a monkey's. I want a PROPER fitness coach, qualifications, and a proven record. If Clarke has these, great. Consider him.
And as for the thread derailment re Cullen
Please don't make me laugh. We don't owe the geezer a living. He's been employed by the club, spent a lot of money (don't forget, Forshaw, Swann, Gleeson, Bridge were already quality) and then brought in Monaghan, King, Morley, Carvell et al, and we won NOWT. it's all right people saying he brought good players in, I COULD HAVE DONE THAT.
Lefty "Hi Simon. I've seen a bit of the NRL, and that King (Test player) looks good. Monaghan (rave reviews) looks good, too. That fella Morley's still a beast for Roosters.
Simon "You're a shrewd judge of a rugby player, Lefty. I bow to your judgement, and I've got my chequebook out"
See, easy, isn't it.
Cullen reached his peak. We didn't come within a mile of a trophy while he was there, despite spending loads of dosh. Thanks for your efforts, Paul. Unfortunately, they weren't the level required.
The only thing he could bring to the table, is his enthusiasm for the club, when "selling" the club to potential investors/sponsors, alongside Draper.

Graduated from University of Chester with a Bsc (Hons) 2:1 degree in Sports Science, he also completed his Master of Science (MSc) degree in Strength & Conditioning. He also runs his own company.
Challenge Cup winner, former GB international, and I'm sure he's well respected by players.

That is one of the most disgraceful posts I have ever seen on this forum. Appalling.
Check the history of our club.

| Going back to the S&C issue if I may, what ever happened to Chris Baron? I know he left of his own accord but where did he go?

| Quote: rubber duckie "Our team this season has been no better than the point where Cull stepped aside. Well never know if Cull could have earned us silverware or not, so I don't discount your view.'"
One of the main problems this year, apart from lack of Briers's rugby brain ,has been the reliance on under 19s players to make up the team which has been shown up to be not such a good RFL policy & the number & nature of injuries haven't helped either. Wigan have & still are suffering from the same youth policy. Willing & enthusiastic youngsters can't be a substitute for at least a degree of experience.

| I admired Cull and even at the very end was havering as to whether he should go. With hindsight it was the correct decision (whether it was handled appropriately is another matter). I do wonder if his inability to distance himself from certain players was his biggest weakness. However his efforts for the club should not be lightly dismissed and there does seem to be an element of re writing history going on by some posters.

| Well said pal. It's either kids who know no better or posters with the memory of a goldfish.

| My memories of Cullen are:-
1) Restored pride in a club that was severely down in the doldrums and broken
2) Restored pride in the club name, reputation, and restored good general public feeling towards WWRLFC
3) Kept his promise for us to leave Wilderspool "with dignity"
4) Took us to the next level in terms of player recruitment
5) Took us to the next level in terms of professionalism and general expectations
6) Built a very exciting and impressive side (on paper)
7) Failed to instil a defensive toughness and team-like "work for each other" ethic
Took us as far as he could
9) Stayed too long after points 7 and 8 were apparent
10) Unsavoury exit ensued after point 9

| If 9 is true, it may have been because we were waiting for someone in particular. If he'd gone earlier, then we could have had Lowes as Head Coach for even longer and who knows where that would have ended.
Never waver!
