How many people are genuinely confident of beating Wakefield?

Smith needs to stay and prove that he deserves the demigod status which many on here give him. Tonight is arguably the toughest place which he has found himself in since taking over the club. We need to start seeing that the Agar appointment was a wise one.

I always had the impression that Smith was of the 'three year shelf life' mindset. My worry is that he accepted a very generous pay cheque last year, despite knowing deep down that it was time to move on. Back to the drawing board first thing!

How Agar got a job with you I have no idea.

We (Hull fans) all though he was useless. The Wakefield fans thought he was useless. He's done nothing with the France national team.

I'm sure he isn't the cause of all your issues, but he's nowhere near good enough at this level.

Oh, and if you like we can trade. Radford for Smith sounds good to me.

I don't know the set up at club and who really does what - and I doubt many on here do.
Recently it's been 'Agar does the coaching with TS not getting so much involved in the training sessions'.
Last year it was 'the backs don't do any speed work' if I remember rightly.

So - for what it's worth -
TS is the best coach we've had for a long long time and should stay. The team isn't performing - he knows it - and it's up to him to sort it out.
He isn't going to slag the team off in front of the press.
If he did that every time people on here called for it, he'd have lost the players respect a long time ago. That's simply bad management.
Now if he doesn't retain the confidence of the board or know how to sort it THEN there may be a case for him to leave BUT I don't see anyone of his calibre out there kicking their heels. Do you?

The 2 areas I think we haven't been smart on is
1. Recruitment - it's been (quite often) second rate. Asotasi is a waste but also Clark goes from world beater to Mr. Nobody. And Myler hasn't exactly developed as was expected (touted as 'the next best thing' a few years ago).
2. Letting Monas go. He is such a clever rugby player and has a fantastic rugby brain. Arguably more professional than Briers and able to convey his thoughts well to the others (particularly Clark). Agar - I don't believe it's all down to him - but he hasn't the respect that Monas has from the players imo.

Now - about getting rid of players - whether we like it or not, they've got contracts.
So we will work with the players we've got this year and get stuck in to turn it around. Many are playing for contract renewals and I can easily think that some won't be renewed unless there are real dramatic improvements.

We need someone to steer us around the park. Someone top draw with experience.
Losing all the experience 2 years ago was masked by having Monas for a final year.

We'll be lucky to finish in the top 4 this year, but then again who'd have thought Saints would lose at home to Hull and Wigan to Salford....

If we do stumble against wakey, then he will by default in our fixtures be feeling the heat and may be forced to go depending on how bad the Leeds and Wigan games turn out,,

If we get beat by Wakefield I will turn my attention to the Championship and study our threats to play SL in 2016.
