| Does anyone remember the game that sky pulled out of because we were shat.?
I don't know if it was that game v Bradford when we were like 30 odd plus down and came back to win in the 2nd half??
But what which ever, we were playing a top team and sky expected us to get battered!
We won and the game the switched to was an utterly dire one sided affair.!!!

Wasn't it v Wigan when Derbyshire was caretaker coach?

| Didn't they also do that with a Saints Salford game, pulled it that is, Salford then battered Saints.

| Quote: Wire Yed "I mentioned Friday, they could have mixed it up, 5 from 6 on Thursday? No need at all.
There are factors in my job that mean I need to be in work on a Thursday and shift workers who do 2-10, considering that a high percentage of jobs in Warrington and surrounding area are warehouse jobs/truck driving it doesn't even put those people behind a tv.
Are Warrington/Broomhead happy about this?
Games almost guaranteed to sell out on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday played in front of 8 or 9k?'"
Midweek games in sport are nothing new.
Yed is the problem for you that the game is on a Thursday night or is it that you have chosen to live 200 miles away from the club? Sometimes we have to look at our part in things.

IIRC that was SL6. Remember it well.

| It's Thursday, the distance is a factor obviously but Thursdays are the only day of the week I can't get off.
Our performance figures come in on Thursday, meetings and the like means it's a no go unless I'm off.
I get one Thursday off every 18 weeks.

| Sorry Yed but you're a small minority.
5 Thursday games, the 3 Away matches being against local teams, is actually pretty good.

| Personally I'd prefer the Thursday televised games to be Hull and alike coz I can watch them on tele! I definitely wouldn't have gone. Bad Wire Good Wire.

Yed matey I'm not saying it's not tough luck for you but I guess one man's Thursday night is another man's Saturday afternoon. i.e) there will never be a fixture schedule to suit everyone. I would suspect the vast majority of the Warrington active match attending fan base (95%?) live within 20 miles of Warrington/Wigan/Saints and a high proportion of them will work days. I suspect a good number actually work Saturdays and Sundays in retail too.
At least now you can make a decision on a season ticket with the knowledge that the games will not be changed.

| I don't mind there being Thursday fixtures, there are other games Friday/Saturday/Sunday I can't make, my point is that 5 of 6 derby matches ie the 6 most desirable games are on a Thursday, it's eliminated all of them in one fell swoop.
They should have mixed them up.

Unless you happen to have a seated season ticket in which case because the date that you had to renew to get your seat comes before the fixture release date which somewhat forces your hand (I've asked the club about this on Twitter)! It was understandable in previous years but they could have easily held the seats until after the announcement this year.
On the Thursday night issue, I'm with Yed. The "premier" fixtures from a Wire point of view all on Thursdays is just not fair to all the fans. Mixing them around could have easily been done.
I'd be interested to see the attendance figures for the Thursday games last year v the previous seasons and if it has had an impact on the revenues the club is generating.

| Ive just read the interview done with Blake Solly (SL GenMan) in the WG. ....... “By scheduling all Thursday night regular season matches immediately upon the release of fixtures and working with clubs to promote these matches, we are confident that Super League can increase Thursday night crowds as well.”
He actually doesnt say in that comment that the Sunday/Friday fixtures are fixed (although that what I understand the spirit was......."first phase" fixtures are fixed from the start. Hope we are not sat here in April/May discussing terminology.

| In an earlier thread there was a suggestion that the Catalan game (28 Feb 2015) might take place in Barcelona, I note on the main WW Website the ground is noted as "Stade Gilbert Brutus".
Does this mean the game will definitely in Perpignan?
I could do with knowing to finalise travel plans.

Yes that is a bit rough and, one would have thought, avoidable.

| If we look at the fixtures from the team's perspective, most of the big games on a Thursday are kind of a blessing as they get a full week (or more) to recover.
