He was, but people will refuse point blank to see it.
It seems to me that many supporters have to categorise players as good or crap with little in-between. The reality with Roy is that we are where we are with him: he's been rubbish so far, but he's shown modest signs of improvement and we need more from him if we are to compete for silverware with this injury run we're on. We can either stay patient with a player our very competent coach seems to rate, or boo him onto the field every week. I know which I'd prefer but people pay their money and pick their scapegoats. Same with Myler as he reaches fitness.

| Mylers main problem for most people seems to be that he isn't Lee Briers.

Im not saying he wasn't elusive and he broke the line. But his play kicking is really poor and some of his passing is wayward to say the least.

| Myler plays better when he's able to watch the oppositions defence and find holes. He did that with Briers as Briers ran the show.
Myler started the season as the one running the show as Ratch was at FB.
Now Bridge is running the show and Myler can do the same as with Briers, hence the line-breaks and tries from within 10 metres.

| The more I see of Ben Evans the more I like. He looks like he will develop into a top player. Roy Played well yesterday looked a lot better than his last few games

This. I remember people booing Monas and Matt King, but after the 2009 semi-final win they were both heroes. Roy will come good. I've been impressed with him in his last couple of games. As for Myler, we have people on here who still want him to play the same game as Lee Briers. He isn't that type of player. He's at his best when he's taking the line on. We are a completely different team from last year. Has anyone compared Russell with Hodgson?

| With a bit of luck & determination Warrington can be the club where Roy gets his mojo back. We have some good backs who are coming into their own. We have the makings of a fine team & with some luck on the injury front there is no reason why we can't win some silverware.

| He might have to start on Friday. Just watched the game back and England looked like Quasimodo as he went over to the fans at the end. He had a big ice pack on his back. He couldn't shake hands with any players.

| Given I was very vocal in my criticism of Myler, I've been pleased to see him play well in the last couple of weeks, because it gives the opposition another player to worry about, which benefits our other key attackers.
That said, my main criticisms of him (I never, ever stated I didn't think he had ability) was his kicking game (average at best) and his inability to lead the team round the park, direct play and call the shots. Since his return, I've yet to see him take on this mantle, indeed Bridge has come along and shown the way. Myler's good form may well be because the opposition is focussing elsewhere (as they used to with Briers) leaving him more space, and he's taking advantage of it, as he always did.
Still, I'm not interested in raking up old ground on this one. The more attacking players on their game the better from our point-of-view and Myler is part of that equation.
Totally agree with the previous post on Ben Evans - huge fan, and I reiterate my praise of England. He reminds me of Mark Hilton, another keen, full-on, intense, unassuming player who just got on with the job.

| Ben Evans always seems to get in the right position to take part in attacking moves. Full blooded in defence too. Really stepped up and showing the benefit of last seasons loan.
Myler was excellent in attack and defence yesterday. Laughable that some have a go at his passing. His delayed pass to Bridge last week for his second try v Leeds was sublime.
All in all, plenty of good signs with lots of players starting to show some form and fitness. Doing this without Grix (to now),Wood, Westwood, Waterhouse and now Laithwaite bodes well.
Penny should be available soon as well.........

Perhaps it maybe because they were then back playing in their recognised positions of hooker and wing.

| Anthony England has already broken through the defensive line a couple of times this season so he has probably surpassed what hilton achieved in his warrington career.

No, King was still in the centre. 2009 centres were Bridge and King, with Riley and Hicks on he wing.

| Roy played a much better game than he has previously, I hope he keeps improving because he has't impressed so far. I was delighted to see him throw himself at a loose ball on the floor at one point, that's the kind of attitude you want from your players, enthusiastic and quick to react.
Myler seems to be doing well in our new three-half-back strategy!
