| Ormesby's mistake ? ....i don't think the ball was going anywhere but towards our try line till Ormesby intervened.
A much better display than last week with both defences working overtime & although we lost i really enjoyed the game , & our handling was much improved considering the poor weather. A bit of fine tuning & the tries will come as the team finds a way to the line without Lee Briers.

Agreed, that's a pretty good synopsis of our performance. We need to improve again next week but can build from here.

Me also.
Big fan of Atkins but had enough.
Let's take it from there.

| Damn sight more effort, but that alone won't get us the win, we put our defence right but we still have no idea going forward. Atkins is just woeful, when I thought he couldn't get any worse, he ends up being at least half at fault for every one of their tries. At least TS surely now can realise that the whole left side is in need of help. GOB did well againx just needs to get that last pass sorted out. Evans looked good for us. Asotasi came on a bit. Didn't notice England at all.

| Plenty of positives from tonight. I thought Ben Evans & England both played really well and both visibly lifted in confidence as the game went on. Ratchford looked more like himself, Grix brought much needed rigidity to the middle and O'Brien fully justified his selection.
That said, once again we had long periods in the opposition 25 and didn't look like breaching their defence. Our tries came from a kick to Joel and a huge individual effort from Benny. I'm not even going to discuss Atkins for the sake of my blood pressure (suffice to say I'm sure Chris Riley is probably looking up the word scapegoat as we speak), but Myler continues to frustrate. One or twice he burst into life, took the line on and had defenders grasping air, then as suddenly he disappeared into his shell or produced the kind of passes that has touchside speccies ducking for cover.
On the whole then, lots more positives but the return of Wood & Harrison, plus Evans & Russell still can't come quick enough.

| Agree with cm8. A lot of positives. Ormsby and England had great debuts. Our forwards for me were much the better. Just need to sort the halfback situation out. Back wise Joel was spot on and I really like the way bridge doesn't take any crap-really good performance.
We should be proud of that performance because everyone made a massive effort and most teams would have conceded many more if it wasn't for our defence.
Onwards and upwards.
When G Riley comes back I reckon we have the makings of a big imposing pack. Really good signs from asotasi and England, especially as it's his first sl game.
Come on Wire

really? He was knocking people off their feet with his drives. I was impressed given it was his first hit out.
Our discipline was much better without Morley and Carvell too i thought.

| MoM:
Ben Westwood by a country mile.
Players that did well:
England, ran in strong and gains the extra yards on the collision.
Hill, rarely had a bad game.
Higham, as industrious as ever.
GOB, one mistake aside had a solid performance and infinitely better than Monas in that position.
Could do better:
Myler, defended well tonight if only that was his main role we'd be fine
Waterhouse, Apparently the NRL's 2nd best off loader, when he starts attacking again we may be lucky enough to see it.
Bridge, I said to a friend I might have a bet on him giving the first Wire penalty away, didn't disappoint.
Now Atkins is something elses, ive said my bit on another thread, at the very least he's having a week off.

| Forgot to mention hill- outstanding.
Bridge and Monaghan on the right wing are solid.
I can't understand any negative comments for Bridge as
he was fired up and at least as good as the opposite centres.

| after watching our left wing defensively week on week it makes me appreciate just how good Joel Monaghan is and how lucky we are to have him. The less said about Atkins the better, i think even Swinton would refuse to play him if we do drop him, thats probably why he is still in the team

| Atkins wasnt great. Let's hope he can get his old form back. Like the try he scored at hull 2 years ago when he robbed the the player of the ball and ran half way down the pitch to score to change the game and ensure we finished top.

| The only way to get the absolute best out a player is to remind him of those who are waiting for a flaw in his performance to take, and keep his shirt.
For the last two years Atkins has been playing like a player who knows he has the left-centre shirt sewn up, regardless of his form and the availability of other players. The situation now is that Atkins is no longer merely performing badly and we have lost attacking edge as a result, but Atkins is clearly, and very successfully, being targeted by the opposition and we are shipping points, possession and position down that flank as a result.
He needs to be dropped, or certain players will be wondering exactly how bad he has to be before he is dropped, whilst they appear to have been made the teams appointed sacrificial lambs.

| Unfortunately I kind of agree. TS should give him the 'the last rights'. They're players who would cherish to be in that position for Wire like Ormsby who made sure that that in no uncertain terms that he wants his place in the wire side and he's earned it big time from tonight's performance .

Give your Yed a wobble.
Bridge like Westwood stood out tonight!
Were you too confusing him with Atkins as Stevo did last week and Carney did last night?
There can be improvement in all the players but to single Bridge out is to imply that you considered he played poorly. That right hand side was very solid.

Spot-on, really. The amount of work that Hill and Westwood get through is excellent.
