| Well personally, the sooner they get the stadium naming rights the better.
I cannot stand the current name, its ruddy ridiculous and I have only ever referred it by HJ since day one.

| On a different note, has anyone heard about the former multi millionaire owner of Moonpig.com 'Nick Jenkins' offering to pay Simon Moran a large sum for Warrington RL, with Moran turning it down flatly?

I was talking to my lad about this last night. He hates the ground being called Halliwell Jones and thought Emirates is even worse. He calls it Wilderspool. I said you can't because Wilderspool is an area but he didn't care about that. We settled on calling the ground, The Winwick Road Stadium.

| A few years back, I remember listening to Alan Beswick on GMR radio talking with fellow Warringtonian Maurice Flannigan, he was CEO at emirates airlines.
Perhaps the seeds of emirates interest in RL and Warrington was because of this connection??

IIRC Padders took credit for setting up the Emirates deal.

He only did it the basis that Chris Bridge would be the new face of the brand.

Well I hope the kit has a body of white and a return to a chevron.
Our best seasons are when we have a kit like that...?

I think he was born in Leigh ?
And he is certainly still connected with Emirates - VC.
You have actually posted something factual and interesting < falls off chair>. As you say, it could well be the reason that the deal was brokered. And if we (Wire) can get free flights to Oz, perhaps the team will manage a pre-season down under.

If that is correct, then that would be a min of £million 0.5 / year. That would be a lot more than Brookson and a really important deal for the club.

| I was lead to believe that the sponsorship deal on the stadium is or was only worth around £60,000 over 5 years.
Pretty poor if correct, around £1000 p/m. ??
