Yet funnily enough almost every Liverpool and Man City fan I know is convinced United are the media darlings. This of course changes when you speak to United or Everton fans who are convinced Liverpool are the team that Sky adores. Given SKY is in the entertainment business, viewers being entertained keeps the SL SKY team in a job and Wires are entertainment-personified they should be lauding us to the rooftops as evidence of what a wonderful game we have. I bet if you go on the Saints forum and ask them what they think of Sky's RL team they will say they are anti-Saints and pro-Wigan. The Wigan forum will say the opposite. If you go on any forum and ask those who watched last night if Sky were anti-Warrington they will not agree with you.

One that gets to me is the grief that Phil Clarke gets. If you listen to him, he is the one who gives us the most praise. Ok he does have a wigan bias but he doesn't deserve half the grief he gets at our home games. It makes me cringe every time he is given the abuse he gets.

Also after reading on here about the commentary i watched the match back expecting some real Huddersfield bias.....there wasn't ! Fuss about nothing.....

The problem is, Hemmings is NOT a commentator, he is a studio presenter - I just found the 'Oh no!!' moment laughable and embarrassing, simply because it made the sport sound amateur in what was one of the biggest games of the year.... Any neutrals must have wondered what the hell was going on for the commentator to get so partisan.

For all his many detractors and obvious faults, you would never have got Ray French resorting to such OTT rhetoric - Sometimes these guys have to realise they are there to commentate on the action and not try to force their nonsense opinions all over the game - Stevo's constant criticisms of the officials are quite ironic, as we, as a sport, always try to make out that the relationship between Players and officials is so respectful, yet that buffoon shows little for any of them.

Number of years the sport of rugby league existed before Sky bought it? 100.

Number of times rugby league was declared "dead" in that 100 year period? Countless from what I understand.

Anyway, back on topic. Every team's fans think the media is against them. Even at low levels my mate from Grimsby advises me that GTFC fans are always accusing their local paper of being anti-them and pro-Shorpe! Of course Shorpe fans say the opposite. At "big club" level this magifies tenfold. It's still not true. Live with it people.

We could probably argue/discuss this all night, but the fact is, if Sky withdrew their backing, then RL in its present form would be dead..... There would be an amateur version, but the standard would be woefully poor, compared to now and it would be played in ramshackle grounds, because clubs like Wire, Widnes and Saints would never be able to keep up the maintainence of their stadiums.
