We have just seen a record breaking performance in a major game with a place at Wembley on the line, and a team managing to nil the opposition with great defence.
Its just a shame that the RFL didn't market it more, as it would have been great for more of the countrys sports fans to see this great Wigan performance.
There's a great opportunity with the World Cup coming up at the end of the season for the RFL to seize it and really push RL in to the mainstream consciousness, I reckon there will be performances just as good as this with 60 and 70 point scorelines but it will only be a handful of fans watching it because they don't have the confidence to market it better.'"
I appreciate your taking the but maybe for once take the out of the NRL ...how many NRL grand finalists and minor premiership winners in that London side........Kafusi Roberston Rodney and Soward alone its shuddering how many grand finals and Premierships between those four alone.
its been a long time since your takes were funny.......

Exactly, it was not a bunch of token lads from London Broncos Academy that Wigan were beating today, they were taking on experienced players who have been there at the top of the game, and they ruthlessly smashed them and nilled them. But the way some people are going on here its like there's a problem with the quality of SL, sounds to me like the type of negative trash we'd get from Jon Wilkin, if RL fans can't talk their own sport up then why are they surprised that the sponsors all go off to kick and clap and wendyball.

| Not taking anything away from Wigan as they can only beat what's put in front of them but a few of the top championship sides wouldn't have been as embarrassed as London were. It's very easy to look good when your playing poor opposition + that's what London have been for most of the season but all the same congrats to Wigan.

Have you any concept what a grinding bore you are Sally Cinnamon?

| As a contest it was a none starter.
London gave away stupid penalties and that was disappointing. It heaped pressure on themselves time and time again. They didn't do the basics right - from losing the ball many times in the tackle (a little was due to Wigan pressure, but the majority not) to not marking up at the ptb (how basic was the error that led to the first try?).
Tony Rae is a good coach imo and he must be very frustrated by what he's seeing.
The squad isn't performance anywhere near their potential - and that's a little reminiscent of the end of the Cullen / Lowes era.
It can be turned around - Smith did - but so much in our sport relies on confidence and at London it's near enough rock bottom.
I really feel for David Hughes who's pumped lots of money in and had no return. He doesn't deserve to be goin gthrough this. I only hope he realizes we do want his support in our game.

Disagree with both the points underlined
Tony Rea is a dreadful coach who was sacked under The now Wigan Chairman Ian Leneghan, bringing him back was only marginally better than Powell, see Craig Gowers assessment of him.
David Hughes is for want of a better word a fool, as they say a fool and his money are easily parted. He hired Gus Mackay who has been dreadful for the club, he's also tried to play hardball with a governing body that don't give a monkeys about them so there's only ever going to be one winner there. He's minted but do you know what, they might actually be better off without him. They'd actually be better off moving to The Hive and selling to Anthony Kleanthous.

| I have looked at the boards of Leeds, Saints and Wire this morning to read comments posted... This is the board with the most negative comments about Wigan, BY FAR, when in truth its London that are the problem. Lets see how many turn up today from two "well supported" teams.....

Having just read the entire thread and noted that most of the comments are about London's display (or lack of it), I fail to see how you can come to that conclusion. The few posts that mention the attendance are correct though. The fact that the game was at Leigh, which is part of the Wigan Borough and only a few miles from Wigan Town Centre should have ensured a full house. Take note of similar circs in 2010 when we played Catalans at Widnes. We filled the place.

| Personally I don't get all this slating Wigan's fans over the attendance v London. How many Wire supporters would gone to say Widnes if we'd have got London?I'd have guessed that quite a few woukd have guven it a miss especially in this financial climate not to mention a day out to Wembley not being cheap. No disrespect to London but whoever played them in the semi was guaranteed a place in the final.

From a Warrington point of view were travelling 70 miles. How far did your lot not travel yesterday? Isn't Leigh within the Wigan postsl area? Bye bye

| It's a good job Warrington have never been heavily stuffed to nil in a semi-final before.

| Yesterday was a dark day for our sport ..Cup Semi Final in front of a ground roughly a third full.
But worst of all was the shame London brought to our game.
No wonder we can't get any sponsors I mean who would want to be associated with this kind of occasion.
Their total lack of passion or even interest was blatently apparent.
I bet Jamie Soward is on line at this moment booking the next flight back home.
Lets hope Wire and Hull can do something to repair the damage this afternoon.

| TBH it doesn't look like a great crowd today - but why, in the name of bleeding Jesus, would you put the semi at 7pm on a Sunday?! I know we've ranted about it, but come on, do the RFL not think people have to work on a Monday morning?
Anyone else want to launch an Egyptian style coup and overthrow the RFL "leadership"?!
