| I would keep him for his last year without a seconds thought. He's already part of the U19's coaching team I believe. Heard Lee say in an interview last year that he would hang up his boots rather than play elsewhere but things change I suppose.
He deserves to finish his career at the club he has done so much for, and the club for him in return.

I really hope that's the case - Moz and Lee going in the same season could be too much to handle. I could live with Lee going on to coach somewhere else but to see him play against Wire would be horrible. Especially if he played well...

| Seen Briers in the away end at a Wigan Hull FC match a couple of seasons ago (with partner and child). Hall played for FC then. Hull FC did get rid of andy Hay who is yet to be replaced at Hull.

| Good idea he wants out of Wire. Go and learn his coaching stripes at a different club or in the lower leagues. Before he comes back to us as head coach.

| If Briers leaves I'd like to see a replacement Lee cast in bronze, erected outside the HJ.
Actually, exchange the word 'like' with demand in the above statement.

| If he wants to be a coach then he's better leaving us.
Go to a new environment where he hasn't played with the players. Most importantly go somewhere with a good head coach to learn from (eg Salford).

| It'd be like walking in and seeing your missus with Gareth Hock.

| Quote: Horatio Yed "KR fans in The Railway were going on about him as player/assistant coach at KR for next season, i thought it was a load of BS but they were saying he has family in Hull (does he?) and he would be there next season, i dismissed it but he was adamant it was as good as done deal already. Now i read this thread and think bugger.
I think i'll sob like a baby if he leaves.'"
Tis true, usually stays up there when we play. I had the truly bizarre experience of getting sworn at by his niece for no apparent reason in March!

| Maybe it's for the best.
Lee's influence in the last few weeks hasn't been to his usual level (see also Morley and Carvell). As he gets older, his injuries are taking longer to shake off.
It's a tough thing to say, but there's no room for "passengers" in the modern game.
Maybe the time's right for Lee to drop a division, go to a club as a player/coach, learn his new trade, and come back in a few years, when Smith needs another challenge.
If he goes, I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. TOP MAN, BRIERS.
Time then for O'Brien (who played well last night) to step up and get Ratchford and Myler worrying for their places.

| Should we loose Briers along with Carvell & Morley this should free up some cash for a decent player or two to compliment what we already have. Interesting times.

| We've all known for two or three years that several of our top players were coming to the end of their careers at the same time. The interesting thing was always going to be whether they all went at the same time, or if the process could be phased over two, maybe three, seasons. Either way, I have full confidence in Tony Smith's cunning plans, and the form of Ratchford this season has already softened the blow of Briers' eventual departure. Assuming Ratchford stays, that is!
