| I thought Gareth Hock was a reformed character following his ban. Didn't he spend the two years of his ban saving kittens from trees and helping old-ladies cross the road. That seemed to be the gist of it at the time his ban was ending and the "return of the prodigal son" extravaganza that Wigan publicised his return against Huddersfield as.

| I've not seen anything to change my view that he's a liability, a penalty machine, a disruptive influence and a loose cannon. I wouldn't want him in the same town as Ben Currie let alone the same team.
Anyone who cites the good friday game against us can reflect that he was coming back from a ban - again. He's damaged goods and every opportunity the RFL get to make an example of him, they will.
As for his playing ability, lets see how we goes in the world cup when he gets targeted and is up against some real enforcers ............ assuming he's not banned, sulking, gone AWOL or bottled it.

This.
Anyone who advocates that we should try and sign him up is a simpleton, or at best misguided.

| Typical rugby league fans they all crucify Gaz Hock but they'd all have him in their team, also he had his name changed because the other siblings in his family had the surname Hock.

Whilst I wouldn't have him in my team and it would appear that I'm not on my own, I too was surprised and disappointed to find more than a smattering on here that would sign him up given the chance.
Regarding his name change, how unusual is that having the same surname as a sibling? It's a good job my sister got married to avoid any surname 'confusion'
My advise, stay out of the sun for a while.

I might agree if his indiscretions were for example just being too much of a tough guy at times and we could rely on TS to channel his enthusiasm in the right way to get the best out of him, but, they aren't

Rubbish. He changed his name from Hancock to try and get a fresh start from his (ahem) chequered past.
As stated above, everything he has done and represents would make me disgusted if he was at our club. I bet Ben Harrison would love him here after he tried to gouge out his eye.

| I'd rather we developed Ben Currie and signed Bateman. I think Hock can be a fantastic RL player. He's big powerful and actually has a bit of pace too. But he's too ill-disciplined to the point of being unreliable.

I'm a believer in 'what happens in one game on the pitch should remain there; no hard feelings afterwards'. Dunno if Ben is the same but I'd like to think a lot of players are. People can do things in the spur of the moment and regret it afterwards, I don't think grudges should be held over individual incidents.
The only thing is with Hock, he's at it with opposition and officials in every game. And it can be damaging to a teams progression if a player is always say in the stand from being Sin-Binned Sent-Off or suspended. So it's a no from me.
Unless Tony wants him, then I'd stand by his decision as I trust Tony knows better than me for Wire's progression.

That's fair enough if it's a high tackle or a punch up but eye gouging is on a completely different level. Totally unforgivable.

Harrison seems like a forgiving guy, considering a teammate did the dirty with his missus.
