| Two places - both in Lymm that are superb
rlLa Bohemerl
rlFlavoursrl
Never had a bad meal - or service from either. Ok they're a bit out of the way, but well worth it.

Might seem a bit mad but I'm a real fan of American style food (not TGIs or anything like that), generally places where you can get a good burger/steak and a good milkshake. My 'piece' loves nothing more than having a steak and 'fries' when we go out for food, but I really can't stand the places like TGIs or the Exchange bar and grill. Anywhere in Warrington you know of that offers the Jack Rabbit Slim's experience?'"
One of the best places for a steak in manchester is grill on the alley just off deansgate, had a T bone and was one of the best steaks ive ever had. Even better than gauchos.

Ive been before and its really nice. I knew one of the junior chefs there, he cooked my tea all the way through uni and it was a treat!

| Tried Ego in Stockton Heath last night (wasn't my choice, t'was an invite). I thought it was OK without being spectacular. The girl that serves us was really nice and got everything bang on, the food I had was decent but lacked a bit of flavour. I ended up asking for some aioli sauce in the end to add to it. I'd probably go again if I was asked, but I wouldn't recommend it as a great restaurant, it's only decent IMO, but I don't have much experience in the restaurant scene.

I went last month and thought the same really. They must be struggling as they send me an email about getting a third off at least twice a week!

Been there once and thought it was quite average. Waited 45 mins for a table but the food came pretty quick. I just had a burger, it wasn't anything to write home about. If you like the Plough in Cinny Brow you'll like that. The cakes seem to gain rave reviews, again I thought it was pretty average, just a very big portion.

Don't do it. I'd heard a lot about how good this place was and how amazing and big the cakes were. On the back of these reviews I decided to take my mum there for her birthday.
As soon as I got there I realised it was the same chain as Evenwood Farm which is near my work so I've been there hundreds of times.
Basically it's cheap pub food cooked in a microwave and bulked out with chips. This wouldn't be so bad if it was buy one get one free or two for tenner but it's not. Most meals on the menu are between 8 and 12 quid. The only thing that is slightly better value is the burger (with a million chips) or the carvery which one of my colleagues says is good but it doesn't look very appertising to me.
I've only had dessert there once when I got a giant chocolate eclair. It was the most bland cream cake I've ever had. How they made it so unsweet is a feat in itself. I thought it must have been a one off so ordered dessert at Chappleford. I got cheesecake and the missus got a vanilla slice. Both were unbelievably bland. We ate them at home and I couldn't eat more than a couple of mouthfuls. I offered it to my daughter who loves cheesecake and she was the same.
The only thing either place has going for it is they normally have 3 guest beers on for around £2.60. I'm not into real ales but I've had a few nice ones in there. The other lads at work like real ales and are normally happy with the selections they have.

| I agree with comments for Chapleford Farm, average food.
Best food in town has to be Choy Hing Village on Knutsford Road, Grappenhall. Best chinese for miles, although the one in Bold Heath (Maplewood) comes a close second.

| Spirit in Victoria Park is a stunning location for a special meal, although a little pricey depending what you want.
Grill on the Square for quality and cost by far the best restaurant in Warrington.
Manchester - San Carlo is great, but for a special fine dining treat try Michael Caines at Abode hotel which is about 200 yards from Piccadilly station... Fabulous
For a real wow factor, try vermillion and cinnabar in Manchester, but not city centre. It's a Thai restaurant but the decor is amazing and so opulent.

| What's the London Bridge like for food?
We're having our works Christmas do on a Thursday and plan to have something to eat in or around Stockton Heath and then have a few beers.
Most of the restaurants there dish up foreign fayre and a I think a couple of our staff would rather have something more traditional. We've been to Tom 101 a few times with work and the only other option I can think of is the London Bridge.
