I'll give you a reason. To feel like a real supporter and not an armchair one. Kids were a fiver tonight.

You are excused as you live 220 miles away. Those who live <= 10 miles are not.

I wouldn't call us all glory hunters . I ave had a season ticket for a lot of years the last 5 in the north stand
. I would of loved to come tonight but as I am disabled and a pensioner and no way (as much as I would love to be able to could I stand for a entire match as is the case of many round me) well the cost becomes prohibitive. I would love to stand in south stand and soak up the atmospher as I did many years ago. Alas as you will soon find time catches us all. If I am at O T you can say I was a glory hunter from the late 40s people have prioritys

You have moved me to action Sir. I'd like to think Warrington Wolves have facilities for disabled people so they can enjoy the game. I shall be writing to Mr Gatcliffe on your behalf. It should not be such that a true fan as yourself be denied entry to the game through disability and lack of funds.

| I cannot for the life of me understand why the path to the ultimate season long goal (GF) is so appallingly supported by rugby league fans. We play all these weekly rounds from Feb to September in the hope of getting ourselves in to a position from which we could reach Old Trafford, and then all of a sudden, once we get down to the 'real' games at the end of the year, no er is interested. madness.
Yes money may be tight but I'm simply not having that as an excuse for some 7000 fans tonight who would have been waving their flags whilst we were ting Widnes in a meaningless game during the weekly rounds.
Not just us. The RFL need to seriously look at the concept as a whole and then at pricing.
I was embarrassed for us tonight.

| Finances are tight for everyone at the minute and the cost of going to a playoff game is extortionate especially when there are some that dont really matter if you win or lose, the RFL have to have a serious look at the format and pricing.
However the main area that was empty is the season ticketed area which does ask the question why pay to watch the league games and not bother turn up at the business end of the season? everything they have payed to watch is effectively a build up to this? Excuses like expecting to lose dont wash even in the bad years where we narrowly avoided relegation wilderspool was packed and we sang and got behind OUR team yet when were successful were struggling to fill our stadium for the last home game of the season
LOL ABOVE WAS NOT THERE WHEN I STARTED WRITING LOL

| You see I'm just not buying this money is tight lark. It's no different now to how it's been for years. The 'recession' gets a lot of media hype, but most of it is just that. Really most of it is just tight d fans. man utd best hope this recession doesn't strike in Manchester or they are gonna be ed.
Tonight was do or die. Clearly the fans voted for what they really wanted. They could have then come on here and started topics about Dunlop track suits in Premier Sports, or how Tony Smith has taken us as far as he can and needs replacing, or 'Same old Warrington'.

| I'm really happy for you that finances aren't an issue but not everyone is that fortunate and to dismiss it as a reason is wrong. I didn't go last night or last week because of finances. I didn't go to Wembley this year for the same reason. I won't be going to the Grand Final this year - again for the same reason. I would love to be able to go to every game but when you grow up you will find that sometimes a car repair/ new fridge/ washing machine have to take priority on you hard earned cash.
Ever thought that some of those season ticket holders that left empty seats had moved to the South Stand?

| Why is the assumption that the people who didn't go are all band wagon jumpers? I have been picking and choosing my games this year for the first time ever and I have supported for forty years.
Just don't feel the same connection anymore and I don't fully believe in the play-offs. All seems a bit soulless. I saw more passion on display earlier in the day at the NWC 13-15s finals day (incidentally two Warrington winners, Latchford at U14s and Bank Quay at U15s).
It does confuse me though why ST holders turn up week in week out just to end up missing what (for better or worse) is supposed to be the point of it all.
Mind I will still be going next Saturday.

| I disagree finances do make a difference and definitely have an impact, I think a lot of people had an eye on next week when they have to travel to the game and all of those expenses that go along with it, and whilst it is great that some people don’t have to worry financially, some of us do even if we do earn a reasonable wage this weekend was uni start weekend and dropping of 2 daughters, supplying food and paying for accommodation I for one certainly didn’t have the spare cash to go and see a game that was on sky even though I was 3/4 the way there from Norfolk, I would have loved to have gone, if the prices had been dropped it may well have made a difference to my decision as even £10 less a ticket would have offset the extra petrol cost and helped changed my mind.

| I know people don't like me bringing football into it, but a fair few Wire fans also attend football fixtures of our fairly local clubs. Between pay day last week and pay day on 15th Oct I could have possibly nine games in rugby and footy to attend: Saints last week, Hull last night, Saints next week, possible Grand Final; City today, Tuesday, Saturday, the Wednesday after and the morning of the Grand Final.
I'm 30 and single with no kids, so I'll be at most of those games (wont get a ticket for Saints away and wont be able to afford Fulham away) as the cost on each day will just be for me but even so I'll be spending most of my money on sport in this pay period. That's not the same for many fans as loads take a kid, a few kids or the whole family to games.
We've also just had one pay day to recoup from anyone going on a Summer holiday, we've just had Wembley (costs a bomb!) and Old Trafford IF we get there coming up (will cost slightly less than a bomb!).
Plus the biggest thing I take from the whole thing; the apathy towards the Play-offs across the whole of the Super League (every game so far has been poorly attended - I mentioned figures earlier in the thread).
But even so, there were about 5000 at the Bradford Challenge Cup Fourth Round game back in April. There were 7000 there for what is essentially a quarter final last night. There were 11000 at Catalan for our CC Quarter Final with them back in May and 11000 there the other night against Leeds. We're the only team to have played at home twice and Wigan only got 7000 last week. Do the numbers not stack up about right?
More people attend with season tickets as the price of the games averages out to a fairly low price overall and many save up for those over the twelve months between paying. Many would never attend games they have to pay extra for. That'll be evident at City on Tuesday in the League Cup too.
I think we're being a little hard on ourselves over last night's attendance.

| This is not a dig at Warrington fans, certainly not the ones who turned out last night, more a dig at the part time RL fans in general.
I am a season ticket holder at Hull. I live in west Yorkshire so I have a 130 mile round trip to home games. Clearly by my location many away games are closer for me to get to. This season I have been to 21 games. Other than the games at London and catalans I missed games due to either holiday, work commitments or sky changes clashing with other arrangements.
Even if a fan attended all home games in SL, that would be only 13 fixtures. If a fan can afford a season ticket 10 months earlier, I find it odd they couldn't budget for a few extra games (which for your team you have to anticipate) in the play offs.
Now think back to when Wire were in either the the Regal trophy final or the
lancashire cup final, how many games were played.
RL, in my opinion is a far better sporting spectacle than football. I am not a football hater like some RL fans. But why is it that top flight football stadia are packed to the rafters despite the price being twice that of RL games for just about double the number of games?
Fact is, for many, RL is an after thought rather than their passion.
