Shades of 2010 V Huddersfield with people keeping their dough for later rounds I suspect. Saints will bring enough away fans to ensure a five figure crowd, but I don't expect more than 12,000 and it could easily be quite a bit less.
Obviously those who saved their dough for later rounds in that aforementioned Huddersfield game ended up saving it altogether, but this time there's definitely at least one more game to come no matter what happens. The crowd V Huddersfield last year in this same situation wasn't great really, and would have been less if we weren't receiving the LLS that night.

You could be right as gates do seem to have tailed off in the second half of the season. But Hudds. never bring many supporters, whilst Saints are pretty close and generally well supported. I was thinking maybe 11k from us and 3k from Saints = 14k ??

| I reckon more like 9-10K from us and 1-2K from Saints.

| Can't see many season ticket holders in the North stand being happy about forking out £20+ for a ticket, knowing that there will be at least one more game to come at home. Mind you, who can resist a game against Saints? Not me!

What were the bloody stupid team doing?
Not only qualifying for the play offs, but, in the top two and all, guaranteeing two matches!!! It's just all about the money

Especially when we will more than likely play Saints again in a bigger game two weeks later.

| I got my East ticket today and the club were doing brisk tickets sales. At the most we only have got 2 home games left this season and I for one don't want to miss any RL before the Winter famine kicks in.

Yes, I am with you on this one.
I get fed up of watching rugby week in week out, so I am happy to miss this one. It's only Saints anyway and we know what the score will be. I can't wait for the end of the season really, then I can get my life back and have a bit of spare dosh to go shopping at Blue Water with the missus.

| According to the S@ints website they have sold "close to 2,000" tickets at close of play this evening, pretty impressive considering they only went on sale yesterday morning! With £5 kiddie tickets hopefully the game will be more affordable for families and will get the attendance it deserves.
Interesting that in Australia they are currently making a big deal about encouraging Manly fans to attend their game against the Cowboys at the weekend, after the same fixture pulled in just 13,972 in the play offs last year. The club has put on free buses to the game for fans, and there is a lot of talk in the papers about Manly fans "not travelling".
I don't think we quite need to go to that extreme, but it would have been good to see the club really push the finals series as 'unmissable'.

Whoa. Don't get sarcy with me. I'm going on Saturday but if there are empty blue seats in the North stand I can understand why.
To play the same team at the same ground twice in two weeks in the play offs will make a mockery of the competition. When the first game is quite important but the second game is really important. You can see why people might prioritise, especially with the expense involved on the back of Wembley and hopefully a trip to Old Trafford.

| I can't understand why anyone would turn up during the regular fixtures then miss out when the game actually means something. Bizarre but not just at our club though.

Cost is a main factor. You buy a season ticket at the beginning of a season and you're covered then and don't need to worry about finding the money. Then, when you have to find the money for three games in a month (four if you include Wembley), then some people have to make choices.
I know a lad who is going to a family party on Saturday rather than going to the match. He'll probably see it on TV anyway so he'd not missing out. Win and we've still got one big home game and hopefully a final left. Lose and he's still got one home game and hopefully a big away game to go to.

But how can we promote the finals (or Saturday to be specific) as 'unmissable' when there is a 90% chance that we will see it in two weeks time Dan?
