A lot of the best prospects in the lower leagues quite often end up at super league clubs anyway so i don't think many people under estimate them, its just with a 450k salary cap they can't have the same quality throughout the team.
Kyle Briggs, Zak Hardaker, Richie Myler and Gregg McNally just to name a few in recent times, Chris Hill looks like he'll soon follow as well. Andy Coley also went from Swinton to Salford and is now at Wigan.
Their will be loads of other examples, they are just a few.

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |

| If they have a knock, replace them and if they have a direct replacment that you would consider playing in a SL game then rest them.
The alternative SHOULD be to use the game as a "training game".

'Show the Swinton players the respect they deserve' - Why not show the Warrington reserves similar respect? In my view the Warrington Reserve side is good enough to defeat Swinton and that at the end of the day is what we need to do - Win. There isn't much point in delivering a cricket score except highlighting the gap in class again, we just have to get the job done. No matter what team we put out, it will still be a great occasion for Swinton and their supporters anyway and they've done very well to reach this point in the competition.
'"
Warrington's reserves deserve no respect in this instance, they have done nothing to earn it.
I would expect some of the U20s to step for the injured players, ie; Lathwaite for Anderson. I do agree putting a full strength first team out will be of no benefit to either side.

| I think that the main difference between our team and Swinton will be the ability to play the game at speed and also being able to keep at the same level through most of the game. For the first 20 mins or so adrenalin seems to keep the team from the lower division going, but then there is a noticeable drop in intensity. The difference is both the speed and fitness of the players and is ultimately what affects the lower division teams against super league opposition.

| Personally i'd bring in about 4 new players on the fringes but i'd have majority first teamers.

| The U20s will all get a crack against Salford at home with us losing around 9 players for the England game.

I don' think I am. The current U20s team as started the season (and now on top of the league) boasts players like Gareth O'Brien, Rhys Evans and Matty Blythe plus has been added to with seasoned professionals like Jon Clarke. These players train with the full squad and are capable of showing they are a match for any SL opponent.
Personally it would make for a better, more even contest if they do play, I can't see how a game between Swinton and our full team would do anyone any good.

Good point, I'd forgotten about that game. Taking out any players involved with the Exiles or in the England training squad, our team against Salford could look something like this:
Riley; Williams, Blythe, Atkins, Evans; Briers, O'Brien; Carvell, Higham, Wood; Solomona, McCarthy; Grix Subs: Clarke, Cooper, Mitchell, Laithwaite
Maybe we should play a similar team to this one, replacing injured / on loan players with more under 20's or first teamers in need of match practice.

They do in the South Stand.
Regarding the strength of the team, I don't think there's any point risking players like Hodgson and Anderson who've picked up knocks recently. I like the idea of bringing in one or two youngsters into a strong team, as was done against Swinton with Gaz O'Brien and giving some of the fringe players like Riley and Blythe an opportunity in case they need to be called upon in upcoming games due to injury.

Yes, but make sure you bring a student ID when getting your ticket/paying on turnstile.

| Swinton are +68 on the handicap with Bet365.
Which way would you go? Tough call I think, if anything I'd go with Swinton.

Not sure if we have the option to have the break, read somewhere that all clubs have agreed to play that weekend.
As for the Swinton game I would rest the players that picked up knocks last week and the like of Moz, M Monas and Benny. Giving respect to Swinton and the cup, we would still put out a strong team consisting of experience and youth.

Considering we have scored 200 points in the last 3 games I suppose that is almost the average. I still think they are good odds especially if we are fielding the the under 20s
