| If it was just about the rugby, then it probably fails as a concept - decent overall attendance, but not all games are attended, most are watched in pubs / bars - is there a way to keep fans in a stadium for 8 hours ? Probably not, so treat the weekend as a life experience and immerse yourself in the weekend.
For me it is more about spending some quality time with my good friends and mixing with opposition fans and the locals.
From Friday mid-day lunchtime meeting up at the Village, to the 16 or 17 comfort breaks - a drink in the King George 5 in Walsall, served by Susan Boyle - to arriving in city centre location hotel - to a quite low standard all you can eat Indian / Chinese - to a £1 a drink bar (Something strange but could quite understand why us 6 blokes were being constantly stared at in there tho) - to a photo shoot with Ray French and then a few beers in city centre Cardiff and a 5 minute stroll home (no taxis this year) the weekend was off to a flyer.
Quality weekend for me - thanks chaps (you know who you are)
Same again next year - got to be Cardiff again and again

Millenium, weekend, mission accomplished.
However I prefered the Saturday of the matches, fancy dress indian restaurant, comedy slapstick on the public sculptures, enjoying a pleasant conversation with the head of our club, and watching people trying to exchange their kidneys for crystal meth in the seedier nightspots.
Oh and beer made from oranges, however it has given my piddle that certain selafield glow and smells of sugar puffs.

| I got there Friday night to take in the Scorpions v Wire Under 20s game which was a great way to start the weekend. I enjoyed it, though it was pretty cold if you stayed in the stadium more-or-less all day on Saturday as I did. Nice to see so many teams and matches in one go. I don't agree with the idea of playing it in Manchester or Leeds as there would be nothing special about such a trip. However, warmer weather would have been nice. At least the RFL continues to try new things and they deserve congratulations for that.

| Always reading this site so throught it was about time I became a member!!!
I can honestly say that I had a great time in Cardiff.... Score apart it was good fun. Where I was sat with my up and coming future wires player son, the banter was free flowing (as was the Magners) and we had a blast...! Loved all the games that mattered...
Kind of think it may be better to have the magic weekend later in the season... But hey ho and all that....
Roll on round 2!!
Come on the wire!!!!

Watching from Walkabout as a lad dressed as a giant banana make what appeared to be a very serious and animated mobile phone call, the 'Shallow Hal' scene on Friday night, listening to the lad dressed in the new Wigan shirt sat behind us during the Leeds/Bradford game who displayed his RL knowledge with, 'Is his name Ian Burrows or Rob Burrows?' He also managed to eat an entire Steak and Ale Pie before realising it wasn't Meat and Potato, absolute sacrilage for a Pie Eater.
Great company and great weekend, already saving for next year.

| 16 of us have arrived back from Cardiff at 3.30pm today and weve had a great time I cannot for the life of me understand people who come on here and moan about the Magic consept ive been to them all and loved everyone of them.
if they had the the Magic locally and in mid summer the same people would find something to moan about.

| Four of us have arrived back from Cardiff at 3.30pm today and weve had a great time sat through all the games, but I can understand people who come on here and moan about MM being in Febuary as it's a bit cold and just after Christmas but the concept is good one.
I also think rugby fans that only watch there team and no other teams detact from the spectical but it's there choice but I find it good to the up coming opposition.
I will go to the next one be it winter, spring or summer as it was a great weekend with fans from all the other clubs good banter with good people.

| well, i for one drove down on saturday morning, arrived just before the game then drove home shortly after! wigan fans enjoying our increasing injury list left a bit of a bitter taste but appart from that it was just another away match for me! the 400 mile round trip on one side i have no particular desire to watch other teams play (admittedly i did watch the saints v pie match on tv when i got home & the sunday matches with a beer in my own armchair).
i have no desire to sit in a stadium drinking rubbish beer watching other teams but i do feel for those who do fair enough, ihope you had a good weekend and i hope it's on again next year, each to their own, i say.

Quite possibly the banana was me as I was ringing a mate to transfer cash for me on the Friday as I had already blown about £150 in 12 hours on booze! Expensive but well worth it! Same again for 2012 please. Nothing beats watching 7 live games of RL in 2 days!
