| Quote: worthing wire "Quote: worthing wire "bob jackson for me , true wire legend'"
Never saw Jacko have a bad game. Hero.'"
a great gauge of how good Bob Jackson was when we played the Aussies in 1990 we were well beaten in the end but we gave a decent account of ourselves but Bob Jackson was the best forward on the pitch easily. and they put a strong side out having just lost against GB and not wanting to lose a club game...
Jacko made repeated busts of a brilliant Aussie defence and tackled everything that moved
In the sky commentary a young Eddie Hemmings gave great raps to Mike Gregorys massive work rate and 30 tackles and then a minute later with ten minutes left to go Jacko was substituted and his tackle count was announced as 32....as always his tremendous work often went unnoticed...
A coincidence that in a scoreless second half so far the aussies scored two tries after jacko went off....??????
deserved of his mentions amongst the greats.

| Surely too many candidates for there to be a definitive winner??
However, if I was truly pressed then I'd probably let childhood nostalgia take over and go for John Bevan.
To most children of junior school age in the 70's and early 80's, Bevan was simply a God. There seemed to be little the man couldn't do. You have to remember that he also came out of probably the most talented Welsh RU side of all time and the fact he stepped from 1 code to another without any problem tells a little more about how good he was.
There is little doubt that he could have played in any era....In fact, he would have been fantastic in today's summer sport, as he was a supreme athlete with a superb physique. He also possessed one of the finest side steps I've ever witnessed and for a man of 6ft 2 , 15-16 stone to have such a side step made him almost unstoppable at times.
As I said, childhood nostalgia has definitely swayed my opinion, and all those mentioned deserve their nomination (well apart from Appo!!), but Bevan was a mighty fine player.

| Jonathan Davies without a doubt - whenever he got the ball there was a sense of expectation around the ground because you knew that he could be just about to create something out of nothing and so often he did-legend

| From an outsiders pov - I'd have loved Langer and Johns to play for us (even with the latter as a cameo) so I'd say them two. (Langer edging it probably as he was actually your player)

| From another Wiganers pov, Phil Blake awesome player. Loved watching him play for Warrington and was made up when he signed for Wigan. Just wish he had stayed longer.

| Parry Gordon by far the best Warrington player
that I have ever seen and for loyalty a one
club man the best scrum half never to play for
Great Britain due to very heavy Yorkshire bias
at the time.
PS
As a class player Jonathan Davies has no peers.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

| Jonathon Davies for me without doubt a true class act.
Don't think Widnes beat the Aussie touring side though when he was in the team as an earlier post suggested?
