| Good game scoreline flattered the Aussies IMO.
All our lads had good games like the whole team, Rhys was back to his best using his trademark step very nearly got a try from it in the first half but just short, his solo try from around halfway was awesome splitting the defence and then rounding the fullback, Ben was solid all night played about 60mins I think led England with some great defence and putting pressure on the kicker plus good strong running, Laithwaite was solid as well great back door pass in the lead up to Bens try, O'Brien looked sharp with some good passes and also very good short kicking game.

| The players Saints are poaching are alot younger than 18. So if anything it's getting worse for Wire.
Andre Savelio just been selected for England U16s.

| Good for him.
Do Saints not have any players good enough for England U18s?

Did you send that e-mail to the RFL accusing Warrington of cheating the salary cap - you muppet?

| O'Brien was the playmaker all the way through. They were always loking for him. He had a good game, as did the Evans boys and Laithwaite(sp) too. Young wolves are looking great. I think that if Rhys can have a couple of games this year maybe on the wing, then he will be perfect to replace Kiing in the 2012 season. And i know we don't need any centres atm because we have Atkins and Bridge and also King, but Ryhs is looking great for the future. Let's just hope Wales Rugby Union don't come looking for him.
Ben was a beast in the pack. The only player that was bigger than him was the Aussie #10. Tackled well and ran like a inter city train. Laithwaite was also a good tackler. Reminded me of Ben Harrison a wee bit. Top tackler and hard working, but dosen't always get the recognition he deserves.
Been said in an earlier post, but the scoreline does 'flatter' Austraila abit. They had a 15 minute domination phase, where they scored most of thier points, but that was all. And they kept targeting our right hand side, playing away from Evans mabye?
Overall, England had a good game, but Austraila were 2nd best.q 980 wathed the match. Pretty poor for a warmish December night, when no-one has watched a game for 2 months odd. Can't knock £3 though. Good night out.

| Tommy Makinson would have been a serious contender for a place if he'd been fit , but have to say the 4 Warrington lads were great
Both Rhys and Ben Evans had stormers and if it hadnt been for that brilliant -and i mean brilliant try by Rhys it would have been a joint man of the match award to them, but Gareth O'Brien was excellent as well and James Laithwaite at 13 had a non stop game.
You'd have to pay credit to the whole English 17 - really hard working performance against a very good Aussie side- to beat them twice is a tremendous effort and their Full back Henare Wells, half back Harry Sieljka and loose forward Paul Carter are lads who You could very well see and hear about in the NRL in years to come.
too many pessimists about after the 4 nations and if this is the future its looking good

| I find it slightly puzzling that when four lads from our Academy star in a rare England triumph over the Aussies at youth level the thread struggles to get to two pages yet if a disguntled parent slags the club off because their Johnny has not been offerd a six-figure deal by Warrington we end up in double-figures of pages slagging the club's youth development.
So to even things up: well done James Laithwaite, Gareth O'Brien, Ben Evans and Rhys Evans. You are shining examples of the great work the club is doing in youth development. Well done to all the coaches at Academy and Service Area level who have assisted in making these four and many others the prospects they are.

Good post,
I've seen examples about how excited fans get when their club signs some third rate Aussie/Kiwi and i can't understand the lack of excitement with good youngsters coming through.

Excellent post. In the past the club has been guilty of neglecting its youth set up, but in the past 3-4 years that seems to have been gradually put right. I can remember that thread started by a parent who obviously saw much more in his/her kid than the club did and all the usual 'Club bashers' jumped on the bandwagon as usual. Parents are usually the worst judges of a childs ability. Ican't remember who the kid was. Who signed him and how is he doing?
