Quote: bulldog13 "Probably the same pond life who were chanting "S##t Helens, S##t Helens" when their U18s scored the winning try against Leeds in the curtain raiser to the main game.
For god's sake, these are young lads making their way in the game. Maybe if Saints U18s had been playing Wire 18s could some chanting be appropriate but this was nothing to do with Wire.

This game is being taken over by an ever growing minority that I really fear will explode one day soon.[/quote]

Couldn't agree with you more. I went to Harlequins a couple of weeks ago and some of the Warrington fans there were an embarrassment. I'm in my 20s and like a drink and a laugh as much as the next person, but there is an ever growing element attached to the club that make me ashamed.
Swearing & chanting at away fans walking past them, lads grabbing girls as they walked past, and even one classy looking boiler flashing her boobs when there were young children around!

My boyfriend has nieces and nephews from 5 to 10 years old who have never been to a rugby game but are desperate to come with us and I won't take them because of idiots like this. I've noticed it getting worse this year particularly for some reason, don't think there is anything that can be done about it though to be honest.

There is NWJ. Stand up and be counted. How many times have people complained about anti social behaviour at the ground and when asked "did you report it" they say no. The advise to the original poster was to report it to the club. The club WILL take action against fans who breach rules (be they coach or ground) but they need the help of the normal regular sensible supporters to do it. OK, so the club may not get it 100% right, 100% of the time BUT if they are told about incidents or if they are obstructed from doing anything then they can only get it 100% right, 0% of the time.

Quote: jdrocket "Think that may be a hot topic.

Btw, What is a glory hunter??

See, if they were supporters since we won the CC.

They have had a year to understand the finer points of the game.

I believe if some watched rugby for a year they would fall in love with it.

This leads me to think that we have some supporters, including the ones you spoke to, who are there to get drunk, be loud and cause trouble.

Then again they may be the true idea of glory hunters who just go to finals and big matches.'"

Well i know of some people that have only been to the CC finals never been to a game other than that,OK well people are entitled to do as they please we have no right to say who can or cant go to games, what gets up my nose though is these said people could potentially stop a genuine fan from getting a ticket to any BIG game they care to go to.think thats the definition of GLORY HUNTER.

I've complained but have been told there is little that can be done without video evidence. I can see their point as I can't prove anything!

There's no point complaining on here. If there are enough complaints against the same person(s), then the Club will take action. You must complain to the Club.

Again, I don't know who they are and it isn't the same people every week that I see. There just seems to be more idiots around this season.

I will try in future to get names, without putting myself at risk in the process!

At the Hj stadium there is a text number. If there are trouble makers you can text their location etc and it gets fed to the stadium. OK, so the club is likely to have to weed-out people making malicious texts but at least it will give them a chance without somebody having to go up to a steward and point at somebody.

Once again another thread results in countless cries of "grass them up".

These scallies are undoubtedly bad teds and they do my head in when I come across them too, but the original poster brought them into line at the time.

Well handled so why go crying to authorities now?

Judging by half the crying biffs on here I'm increasingly less surprised that part of Warrington went Tory in May.

Ok lets say the offending idiot is a 30 year old 20 stone 6ft 4in meathead and the person offended by his behaviour is a teenager or a woman or an old person. They tell him 'please don't do that' and he says no, not onlt does he say no, he threatens them and taunts them for the rest of the match and outside the ground ?

or

They text a steward 4 or 5 come up and remove him, everyone feels happier and safer and the idiot is non the wiser to who 'grassed' him up.

eusa_think.gif

Not everyone is a ten men army or confident to confront someone.

There's a lot more than one or two people on a coach and/or inside a ground isn't there?

If someone was offending** a more defenceless person in my vicinity I would step in and I would hope others more able than the victim in question would also do the same.

I would certainly not quietly get my phone out like a snide.

**There are levels of "offence". Aggressive and intimidating behaviour is one thing but if you're a delicate flower simply crying about swearing or something similar then you really shouldn't be at the match.

Why? I take my 2 sons aged 8 and 10 to home and away games and apart from the occasional idiot there is nothing to concern me taking them.I must admit I have noticed in the last 12 months specially at away games that there are a few more d!ckheads but most of these to me anyway seem to be gobby teenage girl's. Did chuckle when at Edinburgh a really annoying 19/20yr old girl warrington fan was put in her place by a woman in a Hull FC shirt. She spent the 1st half of Hulls game stood up in front of the woman and shouting to her mates a few rows back. Don't know exactly what was said but she didnt move a muscle for the 2nd half. icon_biggrin.gif

What surprises me are the number of "fans" who paid good money to go there, get in, then not actually watch/pay much attention to the game, but just want to eat/drink/chant/go in-out during the game etc. d040.gif

More money than sense?
