Neither James Graham or James Roby will win it, so I don't know why you're even trying.

| If I was a betting man then I would put money on Adrian Morley to just edge out Pat Richards and Ben Westwood.

| I don't see the point of speculation on this one - Sky have already nailed on Pat Richards to win the award, just as they did with Hodgeson last year. There are more deserving players out there who typify what the award is about, impact, performance, courage, the sense of dread when their name is read out before a match - Morley, Graham, Peacock are all players who you breath a sigh of relief when they aren't playing against you but lift you when they run out onto the pitch. That is what a MOS should be, not the top-scorer competition.

Are you seriously suggesting that players are influenced by the SKY commentary team when they come to vote for their man of steel?

He's far more than the tops points scorer. You dont have to agree that he should win it, but you clearly havent seen what he has done for us this season, if you think he's only in contention for his scoring record.
Some people seem to think the award should just go to a prop or 2nd row that constantly runs forward, as thats the only deserving attribute. Not saying Morley shouldnt win it as he has had a fantastic season, but he's vastly different player to Richards, and so it also means Richards doesnt not deserve to win it.

Dave, I so hope you are right.
Having Mozz as MOS would be fantastic and very much deserved. How many times this season has he played the full 80 minutes or very close to the full 80. For a prop that is an amazing feat.

I agree with everything you said. Except Graham as, just like Wellens' badgering the ref, Graham is to much of a big baby for man of steel. I think Roby from saints would be a shoe in though.
and, also,... i may be thick but who do you think should be MoS?'"
For me Morley

I don't think the pps are saying it should be a prop/2nd row particularly, but a MOS must surely be someone plays with grit and determination, really gets stuck in, making defensive as well as attacking impact (not necessaily in a statistical/numerical way). For us that is Mozza and Benny. Hodgson at least last year was involved heavily defensively as well as attack - something Richards is not. Remember this is MOS - there are other awards for lots of goals etc.
Don't get me wrong as I said before Richards has had an excellent season and I wouldn't be surprised if he won.

I think he's had more of an impact in those areas than many believe. Im not saying he should be MoS but I think he would be a worthy winner, as would Morley and a few other players. As ive said before he's offered us far more than just points. His meters gained stat is pretty good. I certainly wont argue if Morley did get the MoS, he's been great this season.

| Richards ticks all the boxes, he has been consistent, been a goalkicking machine, a prolific try scorer and all round probably the most effective outside back in Super League, in a team which topped the league. Fair enough if he wins MOS.

| I have no issue with Richards being the player of the season.... My issue is with the title 'Man Of Steel'... its a title that shouldn't be awarded to a winger or a full back.... Players like westwood that throw themselves into the thick of the action with no regard for personal injury deserve to be called a man of steel... not a goal kicking winger, or like last year, a goal kicking fullback.
