Now I know we have no room on the quota, the real question is, how much do we have left on the salary cap?

Given that nobody actually knows what the players are earning and all the talk about salaries etc on here is pure specualtion and guesswork I would think that "how much we have left" is irrelevant. If a top signing comes along that TS wants, we will find ways of "offloading" players etc to meet the criteria. When all the hype over Hidgson started it was "OMG OMG whos going, how can Hick stay"...result VA left, issue sorted easy!

If only contracts didn't exist

Mathers, VAnderson, Penny leaving. Hodgeson coming in. Would imagine there would be a bit of space on the cap there...

6 of the under 20s have been given their first full-time contracts too remember, obviously they won't be on a lot, but it will certainly eat into the money we have to sign anymore players.

If we do sing anyone else it will probably be someone for back up, or a couple more promoted from the U20's rather then a star player.

The club don't seem to be short of good back-rowers, either established players, in the squad or in the youth teams. Not much point signing another one in Westerman: he wouldn't even come in as first-choice goalkicker now that we have Hodgson.

Would not surprise me if we sign no-one else this winter. TS will have his eye on the starting line-up for 2012 and will be planning accordingly.
