So how can you possibly state categorically that he is lying? For me too many people from too many different areas are all reporting similar worrying scenes for this not to be largely true. Coffee smelling time for some, I think.
And I'm also guessing that a lot of folk will in fact have made reports to the RFL and the other bodies you mention. So that's all right then, at least.'"
as stated earlier i find it hard to believe the op was able to witness all the events in one afternoon! he must have watched very little of the match with his spider senses tingling so much

| What as (I consider myself) a true RL fan I don't understand is the call that lack of segregation was the cause.
If we can't stand together and support out respective teams, have a beer together, and sort out our OWN mindless yobs, then we may as well pack it in and go watch football.
I'll come and stand/sit with you, have a pint with you, agree/disagree with you, but at the end of the day will shake your hand, wish you well and look to meet up with you gain (win or lose).
It's a game of rugby, end of. There'll be another one , next week, next year etc.
You know when Wigan play at Warrington I always head for the Irish club, I always say come and have a chat. I do it with all then opposition fans (even Saints )
Why do we have to antagonistic to each other. Sadly respect for other people/ fans/ property seems to be diminishing.
And what's even worse it appears that some fans are tuning a blind eye towards the troublemakers.

I agree, I like a beer as much as the next man.
But don't we as fans have a responsibility to "shop" the few idiots who ruin it for the rest of the fans.

| We were 2nd row from the back of the top tier and 5 minutes before kick off around 7 or 8 lads (all in their early 20's) from Leeds showed up. They'd all had a few and were being pretty rowdy (oh y y etc) and at one point they spilled what felt like about half a pint of beer over me and my mate. I was thinking that things could turn nasty but the guys apologised and throughout the game we all had some good natured banter. Obviously they went a bit more into there shell as the game progressed.
I really feel for people who were caught up in trouble or sitting near idiots as I could really see it ruining your day if you let it. Whatever way you want to spin it, we at Wire do have our fair share of planks (saw some proper scoats at the homecoming today... ugh) - hopefully they will continue to remain a minority.

| We all drank like a tramp but violence was the last thing on our minds. It's not alcohol which is the sole problem, it's (rough) people.

What's your solution?
Because it's obvious that there is a problem.

| Best way to avoid idiots on the coach is to go on the official coaches as you are not allowed to drink, I myself went on the original stevo's coach. Every one had a laugh with each other, drank as much as possible and enjoyed the day out. Biggest problem we had was arguing over whether we should listen to the same CD the driver played 10 times or watch max and paddy

dont talk through your back passage!! I`ve been watching RL for well ove 35 yrs, i`ve been through the bad years of the early 80`s, where fans of "all teams", including your own, were, at times, nothing more than out an out "Thugs"! I`ve seen fans chased to the railway stations, i`ve seen fans waiting outside grounds, for trouble/fights etc, i`ve seen bricks thrown through coach/car windows etc and yes, some of this at you`re good old wigan club, but fortunately, since the inception of SL , incidents such as this have been few and far between! Yes, there are incidents that happen at "Clubs", (not just warrington), but mostly, this can be put down to young scrotes that simply are unable to handle their ale! People such as yourself need to understand this, rather than spend your time trying to "Blacken" the image of clubs that are fortunate enough to reach the finals of our illustrious game. Drinking related problems are a big part of society as a whole, throughout the country, not just when warrington are taking part in a rugby league match!!!!
FWIW, me and my family spent 7 hrs, before and after the game, in and around wembley and i was aware of One scuffle between a couple of Leeds fans and One scuffle between a couple of Warrington fans near the Greyhound, not bad when there were 85,000 plus fans involved and a shed full of ale!Grow up and if you have nothing good to say about Rugby League, do us all a favour and simply spout you`re Hideous bile on your own forum!!!

| I think Warrington as a town as always had problems with drinking and fighting. I've spoke to people over the years from different places who have also heard of our reputation. We normally have 9000 odd fans at home games and when that grows to 35000+ for a big day out with plenty of drinking then there is going to be trouble as a lot of people don't know how to behave with a lot still thinking it is like the 80's again.
I don't know what the answer is. Better policing and stewarding perhaps. Beer throwing shouldn't be tolerated as it gets peoples backs up. Banning orders should be used for fighting in the stadium. I also think there should be better segregation in the areas that have been designated for the two finalists.
Rogues gallery asks why this is happening now but it's always happened. There was trouble in the Greyhound 20 years ago when we played Wigan.
On a positive note the vast majority of fans mixed together yesterday and would have gone home without seeing any trouble apart from the incident near the end, which was roundly booed by the same majority.

I've been watching RL for a lot longer than that.
There was never any trouble in the 50's and 60's. If you want to hide behind the fact that there was a LOT of trouble yesterday then that's o.k.
There are different threads both on here and the Leeds boards about it, but you go and bury your head in the sand. You sound as if you were proud that there were only a few scuffles, Why should there be any?
I've never said that it was a Warrington problem, but you seem to insinuate that I have. If you can look back through my posts you will see that I have had a go at Wigan fans over incidents at Saints and Bradford.
I think it's you who needs to grow up.

| This 'handle your ale' myth and 'ban alcohol at stadiums' is hogwash.
I've been tanked up at some games, not once have i ever been aggressive or showed any ill will to anyone.
Alcohol just brings something out that is already in that person.
When I'm drunk i take the mick out of people and just want a laugh.
The trouble is in Warrington whether we admit it or not there are some 'sink' estates and some of these estates have unsavoury characters who like watching Wire but they don't want to change their characters and bad attitude just because they are at the game.
Alcohol or not they would still look to kick off, in fact i'd rather they be drunk, it makes them worse fighters.
