| Eastmond or Tomkins would never have been dropped if they were in that Warrington side and think this shows Myler shouldn't be a first team player for England currently.

| The real reason Myler isn't playing in the final is that we'd have to pay Salford another £20K and we can't afford it.
So it's all Wilkinson's fault.

| With dropping Myler, it looks to me that Smith will not be playing an expansive game and tbh, I can't see Leeds playing 1 either. This is straight down the middle and a kicking game.
Very worried about only seeing 1 recognised hb on the pitch and 3 hookers in the squad.
Be interesting to see how Myler copes with being dropped, or more importantly, Offiah!

| I read some comments made by Myler a few days ago. He said the cup final was an example of why he wanted to leave Salford. He must be gutted.

| You always become a better player when you are out of the team. Myler will win Lance Todd if we lose tomorrow, its like when Brian Noble didn't pick McGuire for the Tri Nations final at Elland Road in 2004, everybody was blaming it on that for us getting hammered. If only McGuires iron defence had been there we might not have shipped in any of those 40 points in the first half. I dread to think how many points we will ship to Leeds now Myler isn't there.

Always find this reaction really funny from the Salford fans.
Good luck with that wooden spoon race.

| Of course after tomorrow we will all know whether it was the correct decision, but personally I believe TS is spot on with his judgement.
Clarke & Monas were always certainties....All this talk of Monas being a poor scrum half is pretty irrelevent in Smith's present formation, where Clarke and Monas seem very flexible between the 7 & 9 position.
Add to this that Clarke & Monas inclusion gives Briers total freedom of a very big pitch, whilst at the same time taking away a possible Leeds target and its easy to see why Smith has come to his decision.
Let's wait until after the game before any criticism though..... However, I just hope that Myler accepts the decision with maturity and uses it as an incentive to make Old Trafford.

Hardly greedy. Warrington a team on the rise, great squad, class coach & facilities. Going to win throphies in years to come, plus 200k or Salford (who at the time...) were in danger of reciving a Super League licence, fighting at the bottom of the table and ground plans were non existant.

| You have to whats best for the team and to win the game.If Smith feels Myler is not in his game plan then so be it.Only time will tell if it is a masterstoke or the worst decision Smith has made in his time as Wire coach.

| I am genuinely suprised by Myler not making the 17.
If I was coach and worried about Mylers defensive capabilities then I'd be tempted to play him as a sub and bring him on 'a la Catalan' when the 2 sides had already taken lumps out of each other leaving Myler to run riot.
I don't think his defence is that bad but I guess TS is thinking that Leeds will try and send the ball out wide because they are not going to get much joy in the centre of the field against a first choice Wire pack.
If they go out wide then Myler comes under more pressure defence-wise.
I think the TS game plan looks like being to dominate through the forwards and play it tight and then everything else will flow from that - opening up in the final 20 mins.
I'm still OK with the 17 and think that Monas and Clarke may well rotate positions depending on whether we're attacking or defending.
Attack - Monas at 9, Clarke at 7
Defence - Clarke at 9, Moans at 7
I guess these type of selection decisions are what TS is paid for.
His track record isn't too bad......not perfect but not too bad......!
