Glad to see most people have included Mark Roberts. Those of you who didn't, hang your heads in shame!!

This is obviously best ever Wire team in living memory otherwise there's no way Harry Bath would be missed off any team. Hard as nails who would tackle everything above grass, tremendous ball handler, could kick the old leather ball from all over the pitch and a gentleman to boot.

You see this is the beauty of a fantasy team - while most of us never had the privilige of watching Harry Bath or even Brian Bevan we acknowledge their worth to the history of the club. Whitehead, Noonan, Helme, Naughton, Eccles, Palin, Martyn all players who could arguably make a greatest ever side and then another 20...

Parry Gordon, John Bevan, Brian Bevan, Jim Challiner, Bobby Greenough would all be considered.

Bobby Greenough - my boyhood hero. He and Jackie Edwards were a fantastic combo.

As much as i have always loved Dessie, in the grand scheme of things he was nothing special.
He was more of a legend for being an absolute nutcase and tackling machine.

The best finisher in SL is Kevin Penny, unfortunately he has flaws in other parts of his game.

However Shelford was lazy and a touch overweight but an absolute class player..but i think i'd have Mike Greg in at 13.

and I'd have John Bevan in their somewhere probably replacing bateman on the bench...

for those that saw Roberts play just imagine him Running on to some of Langers disguised passes.

Nope he was average when we had him and he was still average when he played for you lot....
however as was the rule in those days, you played for Wigan and all of sudden you were good enough to play for Great Britain...(and he Wasnt by the way)
