It's part of the Philistinisation of life generally. As 71 has pointed out before, Warrington is pretty much a cultural backwater and whilst limited, Walton Gardens does have some attractions. Shame the Heritage Centre with its history of the property and the Lewis Carroll story has closed. There is an interesting bike collection there at the moment.

took my little boy who`s 3 years of age(nearly 4)a few times and he loves it..went around christmas time as well he had a ride on the train which went round the gardens again he loved it..just hope this place does`nt get flattened for the sake of other little kiddies who will miss out..whoever was moaning about the price of icecream dont buy one take your own refreshments..or failing that do what we did and pop into the walton arms for a spot of dinner..its quite a nice relaxing day if you give it a try

That is pretty much spot on. There is no culture or history in Warrington that is worth mentioning, now they want to sell and redevelop Walton Garden. It's disgusting.
