| Was a great game and I'm not as gutted as I have been in the past when we have lost. Hopefully Briers is ok and we can pick ourselves up and dust down before another hard game at Hudds next week. Well done Wire. Believe.

| The three Wire "tries" were correctly called as no tries.
The Gleeson run through on King was an obstruction in my opinion because he was ahead of the guy who scored after King was taken out. The VR might have interpreted that as Kings fault for appearing to tackle Gleeson as he came through.
Convinced that one "try" was short of the line then knocked forward, but will have to wait and watch it.
Did think Silverpud allowed too much lying on by Wigan, and might have warned the captain after the 4th penalty for that offence.
Wire went headless chicken after Briers was taken off, yet should still have won it, or at least drawn.
Ah well, not too disappointed, and just hope we can get even better when the half backs gel properly and Myler learns to run the game.
Heard one Wigan fan say they were going to put their names down for an Old Trafford ticket!
Nothing like early optimism.

| everyone of you lot can say we were robbed we were outclassed , but it was very even from the 1st minute to the last minute ,, i think gleeson taking out briers was a clear obstruction the video ref must of seen something else but imo it was no try , so people can say we were robbed or edged out but the fact is we lost , the effort the players gave in the last 5 mins trying to get that winning try i fought were fantastic , myler , morley , harrison i fought were superb up front but if we play like that in every game now i have no doubt we will be up their with wigan saints and leeds no doubt about it ,, but we are still a one man team ,, after briers went off we colapsed we didnt no what to do , but a cracking game of rugby one of the best ive seen

| Great game by both teams and a great turn out by both sets of fans as well. Nice to hear abit of singing.
Thought we outplayed wigan for 50 minutes of the game but as soon as briers went off we fell apart. One man rugby everytime in attack and wigan players waltzing through out tackles in defence. The goulding try was a disgrace, my under 15's team could have stopped them from scoring that. One thing that annoys me was why the hell were we kicking to riley v richards on the 5th? we did it about 4/5 times including the last play. Ill never hate a team as much as i hate wigan but they always generate a good atmosphere and are usually very good games. Well played both teams, could have gone either way. Pity it didnt go ours.

| Why when ever you kicked to the corners did you kick to Pat? He must have at least 5 inches on Riley plus he's best player in SuperLeague in the air.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league

the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever

| You know, if Wigan and Warrington face off this season with full strength squads, and they play as well as they did during their respective "killer" spells tonight, I wouldn't like to pick a winner.
It was a great match, and I'd have been happy if the scoreline had been reversed, thought neither team deserved to lose.
A couple of years ago, when Wigan lost to Warrington (the time Mathers played for us and got sent off), I said that come the return fixture, we would reverse the scoreline or better, mainly based on the fact Warrington didn't extend their lead when we were down to 12 men. I was absolutely spot on, because we beat Warrington in the fixture by more than they beat us.
I'm going to stick my neck out here, and this time, based entirely on the fact that the game turned from Briers' injury, the same thing will happen again. A stung Warrington will come to Wigan and beat us by 6 or more.
I hope I've got this one wrong, but somehow I doubt it.
Well done to both teams for showing the world exactly why Rugby League is the best team sport IN THE WORLD.

Good post.....The Briers thing was a strange one, as to be honest he wasn't having a particularly great game individually, yet by the way the team became obviously disorganised in his absence, it highlighted his importance in him just being on the pitch.
I know its all hindsight, but a fit Briers to the end would have likely seen a different outcome, but credit to Wigan, they stuck at it and sniffed a bit of blood and did enough to be credible victors.

| Fantastic game and a fantastic advert for Rugby League. I thought that neither team deserved to lose and a draw would perhaps have been the fairest result.
Awesome (and legal) hit from Mozz on Hansen at the end, and fair play to Hansen for hanging onto the ball whilst the little birdies flew rings around his head.
At the game I thought that Silverwood was having a shocker, but watching it back on V+ I have realised that he did reasonabley well (still concerned about our record with him - isn't that about 3 wins in 18 games over the past 3 years or something!). IMO Video referee got all his decisions right except one. It would appear that Gleesons dream of playing in the NRL is over, is he now auditioning for a spot in the NFL? He was a lead blocker taking out King to allow Roberts to score - as clear an obstruction as you'll ever see!
Disappointed with the result, but delighted with the performance. Just hope the game hasn't been too costly in the injury department.

29281_1270406980.jpg When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

I didn't see that, but I would hope the RFL would take action if it's true.

| Great game, and a draw would have been a fair result, but I'm obviously happy with the win. Just watched the sky+ recording and all the video refs decisions were correct.
As I said on the Wigan board it's only two points, and we'll all have a better idea where we really stand around Easter time.
If there's better value for money than a RL game like that tonight then please show me, it had everything.
Great performances from all the players, and I hope those who think that Fielden is past it have a look at his showing tonight.
