What reasons can you give? he's a good player who brings alot to the team, slotted in well in the centres and can kick goals.

| I like Bridge and what he can bring to the team but I do worry about his off field antics. I wonder whether Smith puts some of the responsibility of the trouble Harrison got himself into with Bridge on Bridge's influence.

Black Backgrounds/Animal.gif To some greatness comes naturally
In Smith we trust:Black Backgrounds/Animal.gif |

| I like Bridge and he is keen to take to pressure of others and run with the ball at times. He has stood up to be counted at times this season with some good performances. I believe if Smith wanted to make an example of him he would have done it by now. Bridge offers great versatility to the team and will be a very useful squad player this season.

| Bridge is a talented player, but IMO lack the dedication and attitude to improve to become a top player. A shame, but realistic

To be fair he always looks fit, and has done well to come back from some bad injuries.
He has had the odd off-field issue, but then so have many many other top-class players.

I don't think his game as really developed to much this year. Never been impressed with him at HB seems fine at centre, however we have Atkins now. Then you factor in his Off -field issues (not just the recent one with Harrison) then i would'nt be worried if we let him go to free up 'Cap space', either to fund the new arrivals or to bring in yet another player.

In terms of the off-field issues, do you also feel that Andrew Johns and Brett Stewart don't have the right attitude to become top players?
For me Bridge has worked very hard this year to play more RL than he ever has for us, after last season being ruined for him.
Sure he still makes mistakes, and I think next year he needs to cut these out to become a real top player, but at times he is very exciting and the talent he shows convinces me of his value, and hopefully Smith has this opinion too.
He came up with some crucial passes in crucial plays in the QF, SF and Final, and I have been impressed with him.
I just hope people don't use the off-field issues against him, because the likes of Leon Pryce have shown you can still be one of the best in SL, and plenty of Aussies are outstanding players despite issues. If he oversteps the mark, I'm sure he will be gone.

I would love nothing better for him to develop into a top player. Unfortunately he has a bad reputation and it would be unfair on the bloke to fuel it further with rumours.

Totally agree. Some of the stuff I hear from people I trust about Bridge beggars belief. Dave T is good poster but an apologist for all things Warrington. I believe he was still clinging on to Cullens leg as he walked to his car being dragged across Tesco carpark crying "don't leave, you need more time" after he resigned/was sacked.

Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.:30555.jpg |

I don't think i'm foolishly speculating at all.
Whereas I don't think he's performed when starting games as halfback I think he has really performed at centre sometimes popping up to cover halfback very well.
If asked Bridge or Atkins I would say Bridge because he has shown more than enough this year that he has the ability and that he can learn and there are games that you can see he has been developing there.
Therefore, if he was to go what would be the reason? On field or Off field? He's too valuable on field for me so I can't help but think off field.
The reason I used the Harrison incident is that Harrison appears to be highly rated by Smith and he may not want bad influences.
