Read at the bottom of the article

I dont understand your point. All it says he is a front runner for MOS (just like Graham and Mozza are) and Hodgson pipped Morley for the 14th winner of the writers award

| Don't worry about ST. PROCLAIMER, he's just trying to throw us off the scent. He converted to his hometown club as soon as we got to Wembley.

| Morley should get it. If not, I reckon it will go to Hodgson.

That's what I thought. Moz is held in very high regard amongst his fellow players and that may well swing it for him.
I also totally agree with this

| Don't think it's a [idisgrace[/i if he doesn't win it, both Graham and Hodgson have had immense seasons. While I personally would love to see him get the nod, any of the three would be worthy winners.
Being on the shortlist is in itself a huge achievement for Moz and I'm sure if he doesn't win, his CC winners medal will be enough for him this year.

Deep down i think YOU know that Graham has been better this year than Morley. He has carried our pack all year almost alone, he also is miles ahead statistically.
That said, i do think Morley will win the MOS award.

Not quite.
He has played alot more minutes? Thats why he is ahead in metres, carries etc. Morleys yards per carry is miles better which is what we want.

So Graham deserves to be the Man of Steel solely because St Helens can't be d to bring in any props to lighten his workload?

why can't people grasp it is an INDIVIDUAL award, not team.
in my opinion, all 3 are worthy, as well as others not even on the shortlist.
stating the case for moz, as said before his controlled aggression this year has been amazing, refs used to look for him to give away a penalty, i think this year he has changed this view and he is now seen as 'hard but fair'.
whenever the team or atmosphere has gone a bit 'flat' in a match, he's been the one to put in a big hit, or get his self at first receiver and run the ball in full tilt and lift the team.
he gets on with the game, when the opposition target him for some rough treatment, he gets up dusts himself off and just plays the ball, no whinging to the ref, the offender (or his own team mates )
the effect he has on the players around him cannot be underestimated.
as stated before, his standing in the game and respect he receives from his peers speaks volumes about the player...and the man!!
He is a MAN OF STEEL!!!!

| I'd had a bet on Keith Senior! Still can't belive he didn't make the top 3. Deserves it solely on the basis of flattening Jon Wilkin.

Morley is a 60-70 minute man isn't he? That is what gets said on here. I'd say they play a similar amount of time. Jammer usually does 70-80. Morley YPC is 8.07, while Graham has a YPC of 7.2. Pretty much the only stat he is ahead in.
So despite Morley being rested and playing less time, with the support of Carvell and Rauhihi he is under 1 meter per carry ahead.
Quote: Darkheart "So Graham deserves to be the Man of Steel solely because St Helens can't be d to bring in any props to lighten his workload?'"
No he deserves it because he has been better than Morley, the fact he has been virtually alone for large parts just adds to it.
Jammer has done 1,496 more meters than Morley, the difference between the two is half of Morley's total season production.
More tries, more carries and yards, more offloads, more tackle busts. All pretty key stats for a prop.
Despite playing more time, which you think would make him more tired, Jammer has made 100 more tackles and missed half as many tackles as Morley. Also conceded less penalties. So Jammer is also better in defence.
Morley is ahead in three stats: YPC, marker tackles and errors.
By every conceivable statistic and reasoning Graham has been better than Morley. He has guided us to second in the table and a cup semi-final and is without doubt our best/ most consistent player.
Morley may be a better leader and will get MOS IMHO (soley because you won the Cup), but Jammer has been by far the better player.

Morley is ahead in three stats
Morley also has the utmost respect of his fellow Super League players and coaches.
Do you think whiny Graham has the same respect? The guy who failed to shake hands with any Leeds players.
I don't think so.

I really couldn't care whether he has the respect of his peers. Although i suspect he does. Somebody trying to deliberately rip his shoulder out and take his head off, and he didn't retaliate during the game, he should have shaked hands but it is understandable why he didn't.
All ignoring the points i made about Jammer being a better player.
