And gives us 100k towards paying for Myler!

The salary cap is something that only the little clubs must abide by, didnt you know? The bigger clubs have the aid of financial wizzards to allow them to exploit the many loop-holes in the system, to allow them to offer players top $ to sign, (thats if their owners can actually afford to offer top wages). Its a little known fact that Myler will be coming in, earning in the region of 300k per season, much of that will be payment in kind though. He will be clearing 50k in cash per season, the rest will be paid in midget gems and liquorice allsorts, with a bonus of a packet of swizzles every time he scores a try. (An offer was also made for Fecka as we are in need of a one minute wonder impact prop, but unfortunately Simon Moran simply couldnt afford the amount of pies needed to make his wages up, shame really. [size(well it was for wigan, will have to stick with him for another year, never mind)..[/size
[size(sorry couldnt resist).[/size

| Quote: Odemwingie "Salford offered him the chance to be the highest payed player in the clubs history'"
He may have been offered the highest in Salfords history but they will have a smaller Cap than Warringtons (due to no one watching them and therefore lower income) and it may have only been say £50K a year.
Getting rid of Gleeson will have saved a fortune and we've probably got both Mathers and Myler for the same wages Gleeson was on.

| Funny how most opposition fans think our players are crap, unless they want to accuse us of breaking the cap, then all our players are world class stars who will be on a fortune.
I would be very surprised if Myler was to sign a deal worth anything near Gleeson's.

| Their is no way we or anyone else would pay 300K for Richie Myler who is still relatively unproven, you would get the finished article for that sort of money in someone like Rob Burrow as i`m sure Leeds would snap our arm off for that kind of money, i know where i`d rather we spent that kind of money if it was being splashed around.

The only way a deal could be worth £100k would be if it was something like £100k up front, with additional payments for appearances and International caps, which makes any deal less risky.
As you say, £300k for a relatively unproven player is silly.

| Yet more people who know all about Warrington's finances. No-one in any position to know anything remotely resembling the truth would ever divulge something on this message board, or to anyone who they suspected would post to this messageboard. For all the whingeing about 'staying under the cap' Wire have always been found to have done so to date. As for 'paying players megabucks', Rugby League is not Premier League soccer. Only 5% of the UK population earns more than £50k a year, so they could all be on £51k and be a top, top earner.

Briers, Morley, Carvell, Monaghan, Hicks, King, Higham, Westwood, Anderson x2, Clarke
Add to that Myler who turned down a contract to become salfords highest ever earner and i just dont know how you can fit them all under the cap.
You out bid wigan for all 3 of Carvell, Morley and King and Wigan simply couldnt complete with the wages you were paying these 3.'" we have a concentrated salary cap

| Every year that we hear about clubs being investigated for salary cap breaches, I get inundated with people "in the know" telling me that wire at the worst offenders of the lot, and to watch out.
Every time so far, it's been their own clubs (amusingly) and not wire that have been hauled over the coals for it.
If people have any evidence that wire are breaking the cap, they'd be much better served to give that information to the RFL's auditors rather than coming on to a forum and telling fellow fans that their team is cheating.

| Maybe we are paying King & Monas in Aussie Dollars and the Andersons in New Zealand Dollars bearing in mind the salary cap is in UK pounds. Just a thought, Wigan do it for fat feka except he gets paid in pies.
