Even more ruthless is junior and youth rugby, mainly down to pushy parents.

I know, it's sad to see, particularly at the younger age groups when nobody has a clue how players are going to physically develop before a 'growth spurt' either does or doesn't kick-in.

The pressure put on youngsters by some parents borders on abuse at times. Sad but true and not exclusive to Rugby League either.

our academy is 1st or 2nd in the league and our top try scorer is a PROP?

Nothing wronge with that of course, but all the high praises you read on here is about the Scrum half and the winger/centre/full-back when it seems all the hard work, and results, should also be going to the forwards and inparticular the top try scoring prop. Have we got another Sam Burgess in our ranks?

Whether Josh Crowley turns out to be the new Sam Burgess I'm not sure but he was certainly the driving force behind Great Sankey winning the National Schools Comp last season. I expect Vinnie and Rhys to be pushing for first team spots over the next 2 to 3 years, they could be real future stars of our game. I hope the club can give them the progession they need and keep there feet firmly on the floor. From what I know of the two lads, they certainly have the attitude and aptitude to succeed.

Thanks for commenting on the game. I thought they must of played some good stuff, as Castleford were above us in the table up to that point. I have since found out all about the game. Heard props had good go forward. Hamilton and the young Ben Jones had a good game....

watched the game... thought the 2 starting props owen and crowley put in a good performance.. felt that when they were subbed the team lost a lot of go forward.
ben jones the winger had a good game, Scored 2 good trys...
bobby goulding lead the team around park really well, and commanded throughout.
His execution was second to none.
Was suprised to see on the programme that the prop crowley was the top try scorer, but having watched them play last season and a few this season can see why.
My mate told me that he got loads of man of the matches last season, and was unlucky not to win anything at the end of the season.
He also told me that saints have been talking to him about joining them next season.
Shame if its true.............

Think you'll find Bobby Goulding only played 40 mins in first half and was quiet.. and was then replaced by Hamilton...who had a good game at stand off. Scored a good individual try. Perhaps you are getting the players confused! The props played superbly and the winger Jones was good .. .....Good to see Ryan Owen doing well again.
