This aggrevates me, too.

Quote: Latchford Wolvesfan "Goes back to the mining strike's, the people in the region were on strike for so long they had no money left to live, eventually due to this they were forced back to working down the mine's in order to feed there family's, it was said that by doing this they were eating humble pie.

Hence the name Pie eaters.'"

We were called pie eaters looooong before that. The humble part was added to an existing nickname.

Can you not read?

The Old Lord who loved in Haigh Hall centuries ago used to have a gigantic pie baked to feed his workers so Wiganers were nicknamed pie eaters. The miners strike where Wiganers had been on strike first and for weeks longer than the leythers etc, then returned to work first, just added the tag 'humble'.

It's not a new story so don't know why it makes you lot so giddy tbh.

Alright, alright, we get it, you're illiterate, you don't have to keep illustrating the point! It seems to be a common theme on here.

I never disputed the fact that the miners strike led to Wiganers being told of as eating humble pie. Simply saying where the name pie-eater came from in the first place.

I suggest you ask whoever has loan of the Warrington brain cell to explain it to you more simply if that is too hard to grasp. Maybe a bit of chimp sign language will do it.

I can imagine what your response will be, and no love, it's not clever that you're bouncing round your cage shouting 'scab, scab, scab' but I'll leave you to it as that seems about the level of wit available on here.
