| Quote: JWP "Lee Briers last three SL performances for Warrington have been exceptional, it's just a shame that in between, without him we've lost two games. He's actually in form right now, not inconsistant as folk are making out.'"
Good point, I'll give you that, but who have those performances been against??....As I say, I'd love to be proven wrong, but until he can turn that on against a Saints or a Leeds on a consistant basis, then I'm afraid it isn't a rejuvenated Briers we have, but a typical Briers.

| Quote: Dave T "Correct, and hopefully this is due to working for a new coach who will not put up with any crap.
Pretty much every time he touches the ball it is class.
His kicking was much better tonight too.'"
Talk on other threads of folk like King 'enjoying their rugby'. Look now further than Lee Briers for evidence of this too. He looks as motivated as I have seen him since probably the whole 'Briers for Britain' thing. Now though, I think he's also tackling more, and has more to his game than he had then. (More aware of his responsibilities, structures etc)
His brain is razor sharp, I don't think there's a quicker thinker, or I'll rephrase that, I don't think there's anybody in SL, with a clearer picture of the field in his mind, as to 'what's on' than Briers.

There was a tackle in the 2nd half, where Bradford where on the attack, and they went in touch. This was due to a Lee Briers tackle and leg drive into touch, and the commentators brushed over it, talking about how bad Bradford were rather than discussing what was actually happening on the field.
His performance today was as clear cut an MOM performance as I have seen, although once Eddie started banging on about Hicks going to break the record, it was always going to be Hicks.

Briers has regularly played well against Saints and Leeds.
Saints is his big game, and even when we got battered at the HJ last year (or was it the year before) he tried to drag us back into it. Games like the playoff game at Leeds shows what he can do against the big teams.

I agree, he was mine by a country mile. I thought he was excellent. (Behind a dominant pack granted)
I like the way he played in the second half perhaps more. I've always felt he was one of the giddy kippers at times, willing to overplay it when it wasn't needed, or we were infront etc. He was controlled, he kicked for territory, he found touch, wound the clock down etc. I thought it was a very controlled Lee Briers, in control of his emotions etc which we always haven't seen in the past.

he put sam burgess over the line one on one, also got to say two cracking kicks for trys tonight, the one for king looked terrible but it was spot on perfect and the grubber for higham off his wrong foot was great considering the defence was right on him.

| That was Lee Briers at his very best. You won't see a better alround display from him than that.
The big hope now is that he can carry this on throughout the rest of the season.

I hope he can for you, it's disappointing to see a team like Warrington near the bottom of SL. Good luck for the rest of the season, I hope some of these feelings are mutual.

| Saw the game on TV and thought Briers was easily M.O.T.M., it's just that Hicks kicked 9/10 and got a hat-trick that stopped him getting the award.
Wire were very good tonight and competed for every ball like it was the last minute and they needed it to win. Bulls were poor, but I put that down to how well Wire let them play. Platt is never going to make a centre as lond as my @rse faces the ground.
Great to see Wire looking the side they were and can be again.
Pugwash.

Another superb example of him thinking. He knew that on the first tackle, we were rattled, lay on, conceded the penalty, and immediately got back in the line and got everybody set, defensively.
