| I wouldnt get my hoes up for this one!
I attended the NWC awards at Lanc CC years ago and Geoff Probyn was guest speaker. He got booed off halfway through a story about touring Argentina, I actually felt sorry for the guy, it was that bad!

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| Sorry to dissapoint you, but the question and answer session was cancelled.
This was however a blessing in disguise - as Lymm Rookie alluded to earlier, we too were treated to Geoffs/Jeffs musings of a tour to Argentina, which was as about as entertaining as watching the preverbial paint dry.
And for those of you getting hot under the collar regarding my tongue in cheek suggestion for a question, I played over 350 games of Rugby Union at a pretty good standard. I have forgotton more than most people know about the differences between the two codes, and the different qualities that are required to play each game. I have played competitive Rugby Union against international players and I have also played Rugby Union at a lesser standard with many ex Rugby League players, including a sprinkling of Warrington "legends". .
They all have my respect, and I at least hope that I have theirs.

Sale Sharks up until last weekend were second in the GP - they also have the whole of the North West to draw on given that they are the only top level RU side in the area - yet their average gates for this season are lower than Warringtons - I don`t need to tell you where we sit in the current SL table ...

| FAO Worthing wire: It was the 1987 campaign where England failed to score a try. However, rather than winning it, they actually came bottom with two points. Hope this puts your mind at rest.

My mind was at rest. You said they'd won the Grand Slam without scoring a try. Which is a bit different from coming bottom of the table.

Geezer?* I've never seen a bloke run so far from full back at every given penalty to grab the ball for a kick at goal regardless of where the penalty was given.
[size* will leave it now if you're not.[/size

if it is true and your name is an anagram of your real name then we played together in maybe one or two games ...but definitley half a game
I was one of the Judges former Laportes players
I always liked to keep Warrington guardian match reports and I have this from
April 9th 1999
Barker Double
Warrington Rugby Union club
fourths were too experienced
and skillfull for a young Tyldesley
thirds side.
After the Early set back of losing
scrum half Kol Witless(anagram)
warrington scored three tries to lead
17-0 at half time
Tyldesley made a game of it
with two tries but Warrington still
ran out 24-12 victors with the
Tries coming from simon Barker,two,
Carl Isherwood, and Chris Douglas
So there you go.......
