| Just to counter some points above
1. We could keep both.
2. We have many players currently older now than Clark would be in 2026.
3. If we need to create cap space we could have avoided signing turkeys like Dudson.

| Maybe a sad year for you but we nearly had the saddest year ever last year & we did start the season off like a train. Cheer up ... if you can but I suppose if you like a good moan you've come to the right place.
Looking at other club's forums it seems no one is happy (at the moment) apart from HKR & Leigh. It's a rugby league thing.

Ive been watching for a Long time , I endured the 95 season and the 2002 season and at the end of both of them at least I was looking forward to the season after. This year Im just feeling deflated by the whole thing . I guess it really is the hope that kills you.

Just on this point what did we allegedly do wrong with Latu, Magoulias and McGuire?

| Clark will have been wanting 60 mins as first choice 9, Walker will have been wanting the same. Clark will be on very good money, Walker will want guarantees of first team minutes and a contract that reflects that. The likelihood is that Clark again would be spending time next year flitting between 9 & 13, very difficult to keep both parties happy.
The 3rd year at Saints will be a risk I think, he’s shown signs throughout his career of wear & tear at various points and I just get the impression that things are going to catch up with him.
Good move for Saints, think he will do well with quick ruck speed from Walmsley, Makinson, Percival and Paasi, as long as those nasty Leigh players steer clear.
Good move for Clark in that it gives him a length of contract that suits him at this point in his career and a genuine chance of winning a grand final.
For us, we have put faith in a younger player in Walker that he is the future of the club . Time will tell if that’s the right decision but we’re putting our faith in youth - that’s what we want right?

| It'll be a sadder year if we lose to Wakey and he keeps his job.
If he wins, I'm fine with him keeping it and seeing if we can't not do something at the back end of this season. the injuries and being "fractions off" could be a real factor so we'll hopefully kick on from there.
Lose and it's really an indication that it's not working. It's not a case of down to this game per se, it's the build up and performances to this game, the reason's given for lack of performance. He hasn't even got a "toxic" crowd to blame in the event we bottle it.
I hope to god we win

Brought over Latu , told him he was overweight and made him train in a back street gym on his own with a voulunteer conditioner ?
Billy Margoulias , Brought him over , told him 4 weeks into a season he wasn't required and would play the rest of the season in the reserves , then if he wanted to carry on the contract next season he would lose his house ?
McGuire , Told to do one thing by the coach and another thing by the players and the Board. Eventually "left by his own will". I am not condoning his alleged behavior in any way. However the way it was handled an subsequently spoke about by people who should not be named is shambolic.

This sounds grim if it is the case.

| I'm just pleased for Daryl Clark, he made a career choice in committing to us which has meant he's spent the best days of his career at a club treading water and missed out on the chance to win Grand Finals. Now in the later stages of his career he has got a chance to pick up the Grand Final wins that his talent deserves.
Like Hill and Cooper he will be remembered as a fantastic servant to Wire.

Well we can't chunner on about being ruthless and winners etc when we're giving one of our better players a cheery wave and wishing him to go on and win a GF at one of our bitterest rivals. Sorry but I'd be happy if he never won a game playing for them.
No problem with Clark going, I even understand the logic used by our club and certainly understand his. I just hope it's another poor career choice by Clark.
He also didn't miss out on the chance to win GFs - he appeared in two finals.

Yes I understand. I mean to say I would be happy for him on a personal level if he was to go a win a GF - but not at the expense of us doing so.
Your last point is very true and astute. He did indeed make 2 GF and 3 CC finals with us since joining in 2015.

This is an excellent point. In the decade he's been with us, Clark and his various team-mates have had the chance to win multiple grand finals and challenge cups. That they have not been good enough to do so is, largely, their own fault.

Thought I'd adjust this by removing sentiment for a bit of realism .
