I think you are spot on. People may perhaps have missed his effort because he didn't make any sensational breaks, but for a small guy, his tackling was superb. His ball handling was also excellent, he has a fast pair of hands. He just seems to have settled into the team as if he has been here for a couple of seasons. I am looking forward to seeing his progress after the close season.

| Gareth O'Brien was tremendous today. I've watched him progress through the under 20's and consider him to be superior to Myler but not as good as Lee Briers.. yet. Stay with us a couple more years Lee!!!

| Very good. I liked Grix at hooker as well.

| Myler and O'Brien's styles of play would, I think, complement each other very well as a half back partnership. That won't stop the idiots trying to compare what are essentially completely different players with completely different qualities.

| Grix was brilliant today, O'Brien has looked great all year since his inclusion.
Thought all the Lads put their hands up today and made a step (a big ONE) in the right direction to being the wire team of last year!!
Keep it up lads great game today.
Wire all the way!

| Great understated performance from O'Brian today and he can only improve and get better playing along side the old master himself. No eye-catching breaks but it wasn't that kind of a day but he was solid in all aspects of his game.

| O'Brien was good, but we still miss Myler. The left hand side isn't the same attacking threat without him.
Compared to Dureau O' Brien was excellent in defence. As good a half as Dureau is, his defence is pretty woeful.

| One good game from a young halfback - he's ready, give him the full responsibility now.
One bad game from a young halfback - sorry but he will NEVER be a halfback at this level, we needed to sign somebody.

Indeed.
May I add:
One good tackle from a young player - Tony Smith has really sorted out his defence, he's much better in this area than last year.
One missed tackle from a young player - Unfortunately he'll always be a target, we can't afford to have a weak defender against the top teams.
I was going to have it as 'halfback' like you, until I realised the same applies to Riley and a few others.

Good comment. Just have a look on the Saints site at the comments about Johnny Lomax at the moment.

| I would imagine G'OB just followed the game plan, he didn't do as much as Lee but i would imagine Briers was the designated go to man. You don't need two halfbacks conflicting with each other 'too many cooks' and that.
Lee ran the show and G'OB did a job backing him up.
