After attending 3 Challenge Cup finals to see us actually win one, it's most definitely NOT 'yesterdays news' to me!

Don't get me wrong it was a great acheivement but how many times can one parade the cup to adoring masses? Only took me 2 finals to see us win one.

| Maybe they were slightly heavy legged because they'd just played 80 minutes of the toughest sport in the world, and we'd come to the end of a long season...
Just a thought...

Exactly what me and my mates said. You could see they shattered.

Where were the fireworks when they came out of the tunnel? .'"
Yes, it is just you...
As for fireworks??...Are you having a laugh??...
Yes, winning the Cup was a great acheivement considering the length of time we have gone trophyless, but it would surely start to smell of a small club mentality if we started putting out the bunting and having a firework show at every given opportunity.
Personally, let's get the trophy put away in the cabinet and start planning for the next one....remember, we weren't even good enough to be even contesting the next bit of silverware on offer...that has to change...

| Fair enough then, it is just me.
Trouble is, I missed out on the homecoming so was really looking forward to seeing the guys parade the trophy.

I am currently on won 2 lost 1 having been there in 74, 75 & 09 (missed 90 due to unforeseen circumstances) and nothing could compare to seeing them walking around Wembley with the trophy. I would guess for those fans who were at Wembley & the homecoming the excitement wouldnt feel the same on sunday.
I liked the relaxed way it was done TBH
Come on 2010 - go and have a well deserved break / holiday lads and see you next season.

My thoughts entirely. Plus the added fact of the dissapointment of missing out on the playoffs.

Thats the one.
Sounds like all hell will break loose if the CC isnt on show for the first home game of 2010.

I also missed the homecoming and I agree with you. Westwood certainly looked liked it was an inconvenience having to hold it and he should have given it to someone else.
I wouldn't want fireworks or anything over the top like that but I would certainly have liked to see more enthusiasm from the players. Fair enough they were tired after the season and game but it was only a five minute walk around the ground to parade the club's first trophy in eighteen years (and first major trophy in thirty-five) so it would have been nice to see them more "up for it" then the majority of them were.

| I missed the home-coming too and I was glad the players came out with the cup after the game. However, I also felt sorry for the players. Having just played the last game of the season I'm sure they would have preferred to go and have their showers, ice baths etc than have a quick drink of water and then go back out again. Still, I remember being at Hull when their players paraded the cup to a near empty stadium. At least we stayed behind to give the lads that last cheer!

| maybe they wanted the attention to be on Rah, with it being his last match for the club and with him retiring. They probably wanted everyone to focus on Rah and celebrate his fantastic career. We probably will see the cup at other events but this was the last time Rah was going to play RL professionally. just a thought

Remember that hull fans decided go out for a fight instead of watch the cup paraded
