In Sri Lanka a few years back, a train not dissimilarly laden approached the station where myself and wife were waiting to board.

She now claims she was joking, but she did turn to me and say, "Do you think we'll get a seat?"

i would'nt be surprised if this train does not run

1 how have they arranged the train to run with only 3 weeks notice
2 even the virgin trains can't make it into euston that day
3 where are they getting the loco and carriages from
4 which route is it taking to wembley

1. There is probably enough rolling stock to make the charter
2. It'll go via Birmingham and leamington - around that way
3. surplus rolling stock used for charters
4. as 2, probably heading off another way near euston.

Went on the train from BQ last year and there was engineering works then.

We went to Birmingham then off towards Leamington Spa and Beaconsfield. Had to stop a few times to let the regular services through. It was diesel operated.

The only worry is that from Birmingham to Leamington it is only single track in each direction so if there is a train in front and it breaks down you are snookered.

Hopefully that won't happen and you have a good day. In 2007 I went on the train and had a great time with some lads from Warrington Wizzards and Bank Quay Bulls.

I travel on the west coast main line every day to work and back. Fantastic when everything is OK. But as soon as something goes wrong, disaster! Went to Euston twice last month in less tan two hours.

Would I go when engineering works are planned? no no no.
