The issue is that fans hear unconfirmed rumours way in advance of this final stage and asssume a deal has been done. The time from actual signing to announcement is rarely more than seven days. |

Well the other thing is its not a straight forward situation. Widnes have their players the month to consider re-signing, so that process is going on. It could also be hes waiting for his contract to officially end at the 1st November if hes switching agents, paul wood did that with us a few years ago. |

That's a point actually, has anyone who has left widnes as part of their relegation (not out of contract) been announced as signing for anyone else yet?
I cant recall seeing any.

A number 7, and a decent one is a must!! I think Price will know that now (see my comment on Kev Brown thread)!! Also, IMO, there is no point in having a winger like Charnley without a top class centre to go with him.....Id certainly be thinking about that (Currie to Centre if he fully recovers?). I dont think the pack is an issue. The amount of times weve been on top this year and not come away with the spoils has been down to inadequate link play between the forwards and the backs through the half backs, running out of ideas 20m out from the oppo's line.....which takes us back to a number 7 being priority for me.........
Interesting off season this one....weve let go more than weve recruited....i think there could be a couple of twists and turns before K.O 2019.

I fully agree. There has been many a 'done deal' that has come unstuck at the 11th hour. Also worth remembering that even simple things such as a player going off on holiday or on tour as soon as the season is finished can delay the process. I have a faint recollection that this was the case with the Kev Brown deal 2 years ago.
It is also customary for the club from which the player is leaving to be given the opportunity to announce first. |

The clubs announce these things when it is right for them. So widnes many not want to appear like there is a fire sale going on whilst people are still buying season tickets. We might not want an announcement yet as fans are still getting last saturdays dissapointment out of their heads. There is usually deals that are announced to keep season ticket sales moving.
