You lost to an inform saints team and away at catalan, hardly a crisis in my opinion. As you know from last year the league is just a qualifying system for the playoffs. Its a more competitive league this year with 7 teams in with a shot of winning the GF.

Would that be the same leeds team that won the Grand Final reached the Challenge Cup Final? Hardly a team cruising along living on past glories in my opinion.

Far be it for me to bring it back to a logical debate, but does anyone have (its a long shot) actual average ages of the teams from this weekend/super league? I know Wire have some old stagers like Morley/Briers/Hodgson, but then surely there are a lot of younger players too like yours Atkins, Myler, Dwyer, Hill, and co of the world?

I dont think age is neccessarily the reason you lost, more the fact that the game plan seemed to go out of the window and that caused frustration. Catalans is no easy place to go.

21-12 should certainly pack it in, he makes himself look more stupid with every post. In a way that's quite astonishing considering I already thought he was pretty thick.

You honestly remind me of us (Leeds) at the start of last year, trying to play expansive rugby when really it just needs driven up the middle. Playing a quick offloading game is great providing your team is all in form and linking well together, but if a few key players are missing and out of form, it looks diabolical. It should rest with the coach to change the style of play to suit how the team is playing, and like what we needed to do we had to go back to basics and build up into acceptable form before throwing the ball about. The errors and discipline is almost exactly like we were.

There is still plenty time to get back on track, it's been said countless times but look at us last season it worked out well in the end. But a word of caution, plenty fans seem to be under the belief what we did last season could become a common occurrence and that any team in the top 4 could do the same thing, I'm really not convinced by this. We were blessed by the fact we had players who had been there and done that in most positions, who knew how to play play-off footy. I honestly can't see really any other teams with this experience to pull of what we did. And to give balance I wouldn't be confident we could do it again this season should we finish as low as fifth. Last year was a freak occurrence which IMO could only have happened to a team as experienced as us in that position.
