Agreed, he was raw when we signed him, in particular he was an awful passers-by of the ball, but I thought he had something to work with and could develop in to a good player. I haven't seen enough improvement to justify him becoming a first team regular in the time since and he is still a poor passer of the ball. |

The thing that es me off about Russell isn't even the lads own fault. Someone thought it a genius move to give him a 4 or 5 year contract, even when he had a number of factors that he needed to improve. Not 2 year with a 1 option, 4 years on probably a decent wage. I have seen par or better players offered shorter contracts or even released in the time Russell has been found out and exposed by Super League clubs.

Perhaps we now have a coach & his assistant who can improve Russell's playing style & that of all his colleague's ,only time will tell. The general standard at Warrington has been in decline under the last incumbents for several years.
