Just as well it’s only Toulouse he misses then.

| Am I missing something? How is having a ban extended for apparently having the audacity to question the original punishment or the temerity to argue your case ethical or democratic?
Whatever next? Public floggings in the centre circle at half time for questioning the video refs grammar?

| I think the ball that Wrench threw that ended up in touch was a bit of a 50/50. Between him and Ashton. Ok. Wrench should have known where his winger was but on the same token I dont think his winger should have been 5 yards behind him.
Unless I am mistaken I dont recall the pass being a mile forward.
I reckon that has been practiced dozens of time preseason.
Also the play near the end of the game when Wrench nearly put Ashton away was perhaps a dumb play but again on the same token Ashton should have caught it and was under the sticks.
So for me it is 50/50.
At some point king will be back in the team but it wouldn't surprise me to see Wrench on the wing at some point . Powell did that a bit with Shenton and Turner.
If Ashton plays this week then he will be up against Mamo. That would be a foot race I would pay to see but hopefully Mano trying to track down Ashton

Mr. Cullen is obviously as keen as all of us to see longstaff in the starting line up.

| Keep the Squad the same and put either Longstaff or Ellis Robson in the second row. I love King but i agree he should wait until Wrench stops performing until he gets his spot back......and my god are we back to the stupid "King to second row" comments again

When I rewatched this incident on TV on a recording I made, the pass From Wrench to Ashton was a "No Look" pass which is done in order for it to be a very quick pass to put the winger clear.
It wasn`t forward, but Ashton was much further behind play than Wrench expected him to be. They will need to fine tune this move, but I expect that we will see this move again, hopefully with a better outcome.
The pass to Ashton in the dying seconds of the match was dumb football, when we had the game in the bag, and I think Powell will have given him a bollocking for it.

| Daft decision to appeal it.
The only rationale I can think of is that they thought they had a chance of getting him in for the Cas match and if it went wrong he’ll “only” miss an extra game vs Toulouse that we expect to win easily - which as we know with Warrington is dangerous thinking!!

| What’s done is done. We lose a second rower for Cas and Toulouse, but thankfully it’s a position we have cover for.
The lesson here is that we need to be super disciplined now. Also we need to be better at driving the ball in (the forwards often took the ball standing still last week) and we need to tidy up the rustiness. If se can fix those little things we can be dangerous even with a light pack.
I agree about Wrench. Those mistakes weren’t purely down to him, and he performed better than most last week. If those two passes had come off we’d all be praising that left wing partnership as the most lethal in the comp.

| I thought that it was the wrong decision to appeal but I guess that the rationale was;
We have a case.
We are short in the pack vs. Cas (Hughes not fit, D Clark ruled out) but should have bodies back for Toulouse game.

If you are referring to my original mention of King to second row, I said it was something that Price had tried, and it remains to be seen whether Powell will follow suit. Please explain how that is a stupid comment?

Sorry. Don’t agree with this. Wrench’s pass was indeed a mile forward and Ashton was well placed for a more directed pass. I can’t help feeling that Ashton gets more criticism on here than others when mistakes are made. The same last season when more was made about his mistakes than Thewlis’ errors.
All 3 are great prospects with massive potential and will in our side long term. Wrench and Ashton must be the fastest duo in Super League and will counter the loss of Mamo.

I don't see it as stupid either. Centres switch to SR and SR's play centre in lots of clubs. In the modern game there's not much difference. Personally I would probably put Longstaff in but having King at SR doesn't worry me at all.

| King can bide his time or perhaps get a show off the bench, but no way can you drop Wrench dead for King. Sends out the wrong signals to the lad.
Competition is healthy… Wrench has the shirt on merit. King will need to force his way back in, not given a golden ticket.
King is s risk returning from injury anyway.

| Al depends on where Hughes, Longstaff and Robson are in DP's pecking order, and fitness. I thought the appeal against Holmes' one match ban was a wild gamble.

Me too - wild and unnecessary. It's glaringly obvious that the disciplinary folks are in crackdown mode (as they always are with something or other in the first few weeks of a season), so an appeal was very unlikely to be upheld. The smart decision would have been to just suck it up on this occasion and try to keep on the right side of the committee.
