| Combination of things IMO, the obvious incidents (as discussed) overall benefitted Wigan. I also think the wire players allowed themselves to mentally relax as the 3rd of the quick fire tries was scored. To be uber honest I've always felt players such as Bridge, Atkins & Briers are great when things are going well but not capable of producing the goods when they're up against it. That said, as with any big game, possession is the key. Wigan monopolized in that dept 2nd half

I'm not gloating though. I wanted warrington to win! Pies will be unbearable now. But if you can't handle an opposition fan debating on your board after losing the grand final that's your problem.
I think losing a grand final after being 16-2 up minutes before half time warrants discussion, whether you like it or not.

Oh please. You've been trolling on here all season, yet as soon as you beat us in the GF it's all faux praise bull like "aww, unlucky Wire. You were so close. Better look next time. You should have won at least one trophy this year".

They're on a seperate threads you loon. This is a serious thread. If i was trolling i'd have made those type of comments in this thread. Instead, i've refrained from making those type of comments on your own board out of respect.

| Couple of points,
1/ hansens tackle was naughty, but not illegal
2/ when Joel was injured, wire players stood around, Wigan players were stretching, exercising and talking
3/ we should have taken the 2 just before ht, we never and Wigan score
4/ Myler was on the pitch
5: better team won, had more aggression and savvy than we did.
6/ try again next season.

| Whilst it's easy to sit back after a coach trip home and a ponder to come up with reasons why? Lets not look too deep into it. It was minute to minute and with the enforced changes made it did rock the balance of the team.
Will there be another year? I'm not so sure with the players leaving and not many players coming in. Or as yet not named.

| Quote: FlexWheeler "This is an inquest thread. Warrington were 16-2 up after 35 minutes. Only a few teams have ever come back and won the grand final from a half time defecit, let alone a 14 point difference.
It's easy to blame the injuries. But warrington had began making errors and giving penalties away before that, which resulted in the wigan field position where monoghan picked up his injury.
Did warrington learn anything from last year, as they proclaimed beforehand? When you get your noses in front you have to suffocate the opposition. Wire invited them back into the game.
I must admit before the game i thought warrington were primed to do it. The grand final still eludes warrington. Not sure where you go from here.'"
Injuries and age of team ........

I've no problem with teams not taking the two, the problem was not keeping the pressure on, with Bridge ending up going in touch followed by a wigan pen and the joel monaghan injury. Wire were not in the game after that. It's the risky way wire play. If it doesn't come off you invite the other team back into the game, like CC semi v hull.

There will be it is time now for Warrinton to build from the bottom like Wigan did last couple of years. We now have the infrastructure in the club to make sure we continue to improve.
The outgoing players have given us a great few years but time has caught up with all of them now. No need for big 30+ age signings

| Collapse is a massive understatement in my opinion.I knew Wigan would come out the 2nd half all guns blazing + that's what they did + our defence at times was like the Red Sea parting. We had that game virtually in the bag but in typical Wire fashoin let the oppostion score almost bang on half time which would have made a big difference going in 16-2 as opposed to 16-8 as that late try certainly gave the pies the belief they could win the match.Never ever have i been so gutted to lose a match + this will take quite a long time to get over

Spot on. Lowest I've ever felt as a Warrington fan without a doubt - and that includes years of watching us at Wilderspool and countless trips to Knowsley Road. Water off a duck's back when you've got zero expectation in the first place, but it's not like that anymore.
