The problem is that there aren't too many pubs within walking distance to the ground like the HJ.
It also depends how you are getting there, as if you get to Eccles and 'double commute' there are loads of pubs a 15 min bus ride or not too dear in a cab if sharing.
If you go along the motorway to Worsley one junction up from J nearest to ground you have The John Gilbert, The Bridgewater and Barton Arms within 100yds of junction.
If you come off the junction nearest to ground I would suggest that you head along A57 towards Eccles away from ground.Here you will find in order of distance, Unicorn, The Grapes, The Packet, Wangies, Spinners, Stanley Arms and Bridgewater the first three are walkable but def further than Hawthorn etc from HJ Most of them are Holts' pubs (cheap but aquired taste bitter) and the Packet used to have the best pint of Boddies back in the day. |

The Trafford Centre is over the road. I say we all meet there for a beer in one of the pubs in "The Orient" before marching over to the ground with pitchforks.
