No offence but probably due to the two teams in it.

| The things that dissapointed me with the BBC coverage.
1. The BBC hardly seem to use any crowd microphones, the real atmosphere hardly gets picked up at all and it sounds distant.
2. The lack of coverage of us the winning team celebrating the cup with the fans, it was non existent.
3. The commentary team, Jonathon Davies was a world class player and one of the best ever players to grace a rugby league pitch but as a pundit he is a bit of a let down, Dave Woods comes across as just some bloke talking during a rugby league game, he`s certainly no Ray Warren or John Champion.
To me the BBC`s coverage of the challenge cup has turned into a budget production, even after that rant i`ll still probably watch it another 100 times before the next challenge cup comes round

| Quote: SaintsFan "That's the one you select, then press number 5. Unfortunately, though, I think it's just the highlights of the match itself as I've just watched the end of the loop. That is bad, because it is not what Clare Balding said on the red button show. She said it was all available on red button, not just the highlights of the match. Unless I simply caught the end of the whole thing rather than just the match highlights (they could have been going back to the moment Wire picked up the cup, which they did do at the end of the red button show)
Am I missing something. All I can get right now is the Reading and Leeds Festival. Can youstill watch the after match interview using red button. If so how?
Cheers

The match should be on the red button for a few days but your guess is as good as mine! I found it earlier today. I pressed the red button on my handset. It then came up with a menu on the right of my screen. The top option was highlighted. I pressed select. That opened up a main screen with smaller screens to the right. The CC final highlights was number 5, which I pressed on my handset and up popped the highlights. I just don't know whether the red button show is included because I didn't watch the highlights. I am sure Clare Balding said the show could be seen again on the red button but she may have just been meaning the match; I took her to mean the whole thing. Since the BBC's red button is on a loop, the only way to find out exactly what is on there is to watch the whole thing, I guess. I saw the end of the loop, which was the guys lifting the cup. Unfortunately that was how both the mainstream AND the red button coverage ended so I don't know what just preceeded it!

Cheers pal, have recorded the match, just wanted to see the red button thingy with the interviews and that. Doesn't come up as an option at the mo. Will try again later

46497.jpg HATED, ADORED BUT NEVER IGNORED - WIRE:46497.jpg |
|
| Coverage of most events in sport has evolved thanks to the likes of Sky Sports raising the bar. Unfortunately the BBC's coverage of the game has gone in completley the opposite direction Their coverage is a slap in the face of rugby league and watching the recording yesterday all I could think was they are still covering it as 'the old Northern sport comes down south for a big day in the sunshine crap'. The worst was after watching us pick up the trophy and then hoping to see the lads doing the lap of honour to us all she then announces that you can watch the rest with red button crap!!!! BBC don't deserve the coverage and I for one would love to see them lose it - Wake up RFL PLEASE

Based on their coverage of F1 i would doubt it to be honest, it wasn`t far off more adverts than laps.
I wouldn`t put it past them to run to an advert in between someone scoring a try and the conversion, they make their money on adverts so they would cram in one at every oppertunity.

| We all know it's a protected event so it as to be shown on terrestrial TV but SKY show the FA cup at the same time as the BBC so why do SKY not cover it too ? That way we will have a choice (Eddie and Stevo)
commentary highlights from the game would be
Eddie
"Well as any Wigan and Saints fan will tell you today my moneys on a draw"
Stevo
85th minute of the game
"Let's look again at that chargedown again you can quite clearly see the knock on"
Phil Clarke
uncontrolable crying and the odd comment of Wigans' golden decade
Barry Mac
"you don't have to be a Rocket Surgeon to work out this will affect Huddesfields playoff position" inaudible voice in background followed by Barrie Mac again
"Challenge cup?, since when?"

| BBC weren't that bad, of course they could have done better but SKY are very good at showing sport events because thats what they do.
Claire Balding is surprisingly good
