| I wonder if keeping Sandow registered at 7 will be for dramatic effect when it comes up in court.

| I'd sooner see it on Judge Rinder then when he is left homeless, watch Sandy on Jeremy Kyle with some colleagues!

Do the RFL accept that there has been a fundamental breach of contract such that although we still hold Sandows registration we are under no obligation to pay him? Obviously the Salary Cap doesn't apply to us but I'm curious.'"
I'm pretty sure if you have a long term injury, like, out for the season you can de register a player so you can still pay him as per his contact but it won't count on the cap. I would like to think the same applies here that they can still hold his registration but it not count on the cap because of the circumstances. If this isn't the case the RFL are even more clueless than I first thought

| I can't see how, as Sandow walked out on us, we would still be paying him. Therefore, how could there be any affect on salary cap?

There's a couple of things in this.
Firstly, the salary cap value of a player is totally unrelated to the amount they actually get paid. It's a completely notional value, which uses a players contract to calculate the "worth" of a player. There's a couple of reasons to do this, both legally and logistically. The easiest example to see the difference between paying a player and cap value is in bonuses i.e. appearance bonuses. The cap assumes that a player whose base salary is over £20,000 will play 20 times in a year, and their total cap value will include 20x the appearance bonus whatever it may be (of the base salary is under 20k, it assumes they will play 5 times.) It doesn't matter if the player is injured in round 1 or plays every game that season, that's the cap value.
So, if we assume that the contract between Sandow and Warrington hasn't been terminated, then Sandow is still on Warringtons cap. However, there are clauses in the Salary Cap that allow clubs to appeal for a short term cap increase in cases of injury crisis, player misbehaviour, or anything else. The current situation should be cut and dry for Warrington to use this clause to effectively negate Sandows cap value.

Just to sound a bit more pompous. ....
I had read we had registered the number 7 to sandow and that we are now unable to change that. This would make some sense otherwise Andrew Johns would have wore 7 when we de registered Appo. ( yes half way through a season but same difference? ??)
It appears its alright for you to have a pop at the rfl but I'd I do it it's outrage for no reason.

| All this charade with squad numbering just fuels my agenda of dropping the whole system.
It causes more issues than any small merchandising gains it makes...if any.

| World's gone fuggin' mental.
We've got a barmpot as leader of the free world
Some woman called Scarlett is classed as a celebrity
People are getting upset that a fat MP that can't dance, and a white woman pretending to be black have got too far in talent shows
A 72 year old rock star has fathered a child, whilst having two great grandchildren
and a seemingly sane businessman has authorised the transfer of an aging halfback RL player, who's best days are behind him, for a substantial amount of money, when transfer fees are rarely paid.

Thanks for that. To quote the saying, it's as clear as mud.

My grandad was a lifelong socialist but in his twilight years he had the Daily Express delivered on the basis that it made him so angry it kept him alive . Not sure why I thought of that when I read your post?

The person you describe as a "barmpot" is a self made billionaire. How much are you worth?

True worth can't be measured by the size of a person's bank account surely? If you don't agree with me PM me your salary and we will see whether I will have to concede whether you are right and I'm wrong (only joking about the last part by the way the concept of wealth = worth is outdated)
Back on topic I like the Brown signing, maybe over priced maybe not we shall see, but, there's no point having cash in the attic or a sugar daddy and doing nothing

| Think Brown was the best we could do and it was a sellers market. If we had brought in someone cheaper but not as good people would've moaned about that...
