Quote: Paul2812 "PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEAAAAASEEEE..... change your name immediately from the 'Ultras.'

Although its great your trying to create a better atmosphere, naming yourselves after a brand of jam-rags is simply cringeworthy.

Why not call yourselves the 'Warrington Bum-Bangers.'

I think the Ar$£ Bandits might have more of an edge .

One thing I will say in these lads favour is that the banners and flags they've been bringing to games recently are actually - crazily enough - primrose and blue.

A welcome change from those godawful England flags with even more godawful slogans and logos (Millwall and Wolverhampton Wanderers to name but two) that tramp always puts up at our games.

Agreed. If people want to take England flags, then they should go and watch the national team play. Judging by the recent Exiles games they could do with a few more followers. And even worse what do either Millwall or Wolverhampton have to do with this club?

Quote: Dropkick Murphy "I noticed a "Warrington Ultras" banner at Magic Weekend.

The Wigan Ultras are a Green Brigade tribute act, but to give them their due they're reasonably well organised and as a result they probably have the best atmosphere in RL.

Ours are just a few kids with drums trying to follow Wigan's lead. Poor.'"

They were stood a few rows in front of us at Etihad with that flag, I wanted the ground to swallow us up. Embarrassing. There were about 5 of them, all under about 16. No drum, just them.

I wonder what would have happened if someone would have asked them to explain what their banner meant. A little bit of imagination please, lads.....

Indeed, I was stood in the back row with the drummers and there was no sign of any 'Ultras'......thankfully

Quote: Moving Forward "We do out best to try and make an atmosphere. If you don't like it then buy a drum and have a go yourself. It's harder than you think. Yesterdays atmosphere was great, that's how it should be for every game. The HJ should be a fortress and don't get me wrong, some games are, but it needs to be all the games. We had some flags taken off us yesterday, apparently they we're too big or something.'"

Quote: mark_m "Just an idea; how about the 'Warrington Zingari' ?

Zingari was the name first used by the club when they formed.'"

If people are going to start up some sort of group, then this would be an ideal name in keeping with the traditions of the club.

There's nothing wrong with some people trying to generate a bit more atmosphere, and if there were a few hundred people at every home game who sang for 80 minutes then the rest of the ground might join in.

As a long time supporter of Cas I can honestly say that you have always been my team to follow the wrong side of the pennines and I was at Wembley with my Cas shirt on complete with Warrington cap sat in the middle of the Leeds scum.

My point is, that although no-one can doubt your support is brilliant I must say that last season a few of you made things very intimidating down the lane. For the 2nd half you positioned yourselves at either end of the Wheldon Road stand and as the game was very much one sided continually baited our support with the usual "I want to go home, Cas is a hole" for the whole of the half and trying to get a unsavoury reaction from ourselves.

As I say, your support is brilliant but just a small minority, as normal, spoil it for the majority.

I have serious worries about anyone who would want to start up a group with a name that is associated with one of the most feared group of football hooligans in Europe (or a sanitary towel, be it with or without wings). it would automatically the chav types that all decent RL fans hate. Why can't everyone simply support their team in their own way and not be dictated to by a small group. If anyone has ever stood or sat next to me they'll know that I am one of the noisiest men that they'll ever have the misfortune to be next to, but I don't sing. Every couple of weeks we get a thread like this and we get the same few who think only they can create an atmosphere.

I'd love football clubs in England to have [ireal[/i ultras groups, along the lines of the Italians, as clubs wouldn't be able to constantly shaft their fans the way they do here if that was the case. There is however a world of difference between that and what Wigan do.

The closest in British sport are the Green Brigade at Celtic who I admire a lot.
